Bungie told us they were trying to aim more towards RPG elements. Restricting how people can build their armours, mods and affinities is not exactly helping them to reach that goal is it. How many bungie employees D*cks have you sucked?

  • Armour having elemental affinities is a RPG mechanic - would you rather have the totally random stats and perks with no way of altering them like we use to? Because if you’re arguing that then that’s a fair opinion as that’s the other way they could go in terms of RPG mechanics but it sounds like you just want everything your way and easy to obtain. Oh dear, your comment clearly sums up your mental age and perspective. Enjoy obesity Trump supporter, you won’t get any more response from me.

  • These "RPG" mechanics if you call them that are dumbed down that a toddler could understand them and in the event that they didn't understand these "mechanics" the "mechanics" don't even really matter when you can just steamroll content with any gear lmao. Honestly this armour 2.0 system is a complete joke.

  • It sounds like you’re annoyed by encounter construction and difficulty of content rather than armour 2.0. I like armour 2.0, gives us the ability to manipulate how we want to play much more than anything that came before. I’d like them to add further to the charged with light mods to give us even more build diversity. Bungie are in a tough place where they want to make the mods and builds accessible to players but also not demanded for high end content - it’s a really fine line where they have to cater to the casual players and the hardcore ones. Running charged with light certainly has benefits as well as mods such as relay defender in the raid but none of them are ‘must haves’ and so I think that’s pretty good balance.

  • Well when the general "difficulty" of the game isn't really leaning into this armour system its a complete waste of time and resources. Why bother getting a build when you can grind bounties to get that power advantage bracket over the activity? For high-end content in an MMORPG it should almost be required that you meet the level of the activity and have an appropriate build to sustain yourself otherwise it just makes the whole experience feel shallow. The rewards from seasons are pathetic imo because of the way Bungie has setup weapons in D2 to a point that any new guns besides Recluse, Izanagi's and Wendigo or L&D are complete shit in PvE. Legit you don't need anything else in 90% of content besides... Devour Voidlock Izangi's Burden Recluse Wendigo / L&D Bungie tried implementing a system to use their new mods with the champions but even that doesn't work when you can just use heavy and kill them before they have a chance to put up a shield. Raids are a joke too, the rewards are laughable and the actual experience is mind numbingly dull after the first time. The first boss of GoS gets half a clap because its a boss that ACTUALLY MOVES OMG!!!!

  • I agree with pretty much all your previous comment but I don’t think armour 2.0 changes would affect any of that. The weapons you listed are the ‘optimal’ for most PvE but everything else outside of that is not bad and certainly usable. For a long time I’ve pushed against the prospect of the PvE meta as so many things usable and strong but get overshadowed by the weapons you mentioned but there will always be a ‘beat’ loadout. I too want more challenging content, more champions, all exotics to have champion mods on them and do think experiences are feeling more shallow. But this thread alone shows how people are angry at grinding for armour, materials and generally Bungie’s slow shift to a more hardcore game. They are in a tough position due to the mix of player expectations and it’s an issue Destiny will likely ways have.

  • Everything is usable and you can use almost anything and steamroll 90% of content. I think that the current weapon system atm is not viable for newly added gear. Armour 2.0 has large issues that make it useless, without the need to actual build your character to be viable in endgame content or any content it devalues the amount of time and resources put into creating a build imo. For the affinities specifically I don't think the price should be this high to change them but I saw a reasonable recommendation of 1 ascendant shard to change, it would be relatively costly and wouldn't let you just swap out at will but will allow some players to change up their perks if they want to with little push back in terms of actual resources spent just to get a different perk set. Tbh I think most of the issues I outlined can be just chalked up to the foundation Bungie has build for Destiny 2.

  • Restricting with affinities is contrary to bungie’s vision of more armour freedom you moron. Man for a fanboy your complete lack of knowledge is astounding.
