Angered and Heartbroken.
I’ve never been so angered and heartbroken from joining a player on the destiny companion app. After 43 gruesome minutes our fire team managed to complete this weeks Scarlet Keep Nightfall on Master Difficultly. I was anxiously waiting for my hard earned pinnacle weapon and rewards to drop only to be kicked from the fire-team before the drop. I rushed to the tower to see if maybe it would be at the postmaster only to realize that the Weekly challenge was not completed. For the first time after many years of playing Destiny, I was left speechless and shocked by what just happened. Destiny is the only game I look forward to playing every night. Im a mother and playing is my getaway and what I enjoy doing the most during my free time. After this incident, Im just sitting here with tears in my eyes.
Re; Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that reached out. I was so emotional in the heat of the moment as I couldn’t believe anyone would do such a thing and deliberately kick me from the fire-team before the drop. Anyone who played The Scarlet Keep on master can relate to how stressful and at the same time exhilarating the boss phase is; I love the chaos which makes this Nightfall reward in particular more deserving at the end. It’s evident from your support that the good players ALWAYS outnumber the toxic ones in this community. Much Respect. 🌹
Edit: This is the first time I’ve ever posted on here thinking that it would directly go to Destiny. It’s crazy reading all your responses but I think that there were some really good suggestions in regards to the situation. Destiny could definitely look into disabling the Boot feature once you reach a certain point in a strike/raid like the restricted zone or the Boss Phase.
And to anyone saying I overreacted; 1. In that moment when you see the message that you’re no longer in a fire-team and realize what just happened, yes it angered me and 2. I did not mention the abuse I got from that certain player After I messaged them regarding their actions. So yes it was painful to hear what he had said knowing that you did everything right to complete the nightfall.
I hope this controversy might spark a change in some features in the game making it more user friendly especially for solo players that depend on the companion app for certain tasks. 👍🏽

49 RepliesThank you for sharing your story. I'll be sure to send this off. While this hasn't happened to me in some time, I fully understand the frustration you're experiencing. I remember a few times early in Destiny 1 where I was kicked from Nightfalls or Raids towards the final checkpoints. It absolutely sucks to be kicked when you're about to reach the reward screen. I hope you're able to find a few friendlier fireteams in the replies to this thread. I also hope whoever pulled this fast one learns to be a kinder human in the future. To sum up a few notes in the OP and replies: • Players continue to request In-game LFG for endgame activities • Players do not believe fireteam leaders should be able to remove members near the end of an activity if an LFG feature were to be implemented • Players would like to see idle-kick features, whether they be voting or other • Players would like to see a "rate this leader" feature for Find Fireteam, so they can report issues like this or rate their experience with a leader As always, I want it to be understood that this isn't a promise. The team is balancing various other items in development, but I'll see if LFG/Social style features could be given a higher priority on the backlog. Cheers, -dmg

My dumba$$ took us to orbit before the pinnacle gear dropped because I thought it dropped when the mission was completed. The reason I thought that was because a legendary dropped as soon as the mission completes therefore I thought it was the pinnacle. As I'm holding return to orbit I hear one of the fireteam members yell wait wait wait! After reaching orbit I checked the drop and it wasnt the pinnacle. I felt like a dumb a$$. I immediately took us back in. Thankfully each run was quick so it wasnt a big deal. I apologized to each fireteam member.

1 ReplyOne thing sticks out in this post, is the responses. Not the responses of support but the 'other' ones..... We can never get rid of the trash but we sure can take it out and dump it, keeping a neat and tidy home. @S14 hang in there! has with lore in game, not all 'Risen' were good, some were dictators but the Iron Lords rose to the occasion!! Ensuring mankind had at least a chance to survive. Just smile and be better guardian than those whom did you wrong. No guardian should ever feel the need to shed a tear...because of another guardian's bad showmanship and integrity.

Not sure if you already in a clan, but why not start a clan Destiny Moms and have players who are moms and be able to help each other out. I know we have Destiny Dads, so why not have one for Moms.

Since 2014 this has happened time and time again. And posts like this inevitably go up quite regularly. I find it so humorous that any time a male would post this exact scenario, he’s laughed at and mocked and told to just suck it up and do it again. No big deal. And then when a female posts this specific scenario, the response is overwhelmingly beta. #FemalePrivilage 😂

2 RepliesThis brings memories long time ago when i played WoW. Leaders kicking people and the best part? They stole your loot, called it ”ninjaing”. Imagine that one piece of gear or weapon you aleays wanted and it had low drop rate, then the raid leader steals it for himseld even tho you won the raidroll and kicks you or leaves himself. Destiny suffering isnt as bad as WoW suffering was. Anyways been there, know your pain. This will never stop, theres always idiots. Good luck.

6 RepliesSo you’re an adult and a mother yet you’re crying over video games? Yikes. This happened to me a couple times in D1, I was a teenager then, and I never ever cried. I understand it’s pretty frustrating and sucks but I think crying is just a little....childish. This is probably one of the more mild things a human can do, I can’t imagine how you react to truly evil things.

Idle-kicking would still be present to address AFK'ers, while macro-using AFK'ers can be still be reported for perma-bans (this is in the EULA now.) EDIT: BTW, did the OP report the fire team leader? I'm pretty sure this falls under griefing / harassment, possibly earning a temp restriction and even a perma-ban if the player is a repeat offender.

2 RepliesA) Boot tokens. Dont have em? Cant boot em. Boot tokens can only be obtained through guided games with a good Oathkeeper score. You can only use them if >/=50% of your fireteam are clan members. ;AND 2) Disable boot at final checkpoint once Darkness starts until you return to orbit. Use whatever programming flag you use to disable joining fireteams at the end of raids.

All these 'grow up' or 'reality check' guys probably rage more often over things like a bad connection or not getting a god roll of their favorite weapon so just ignore the haters. There’s plenty of decent guys and gals out there. I hope next time you’ll find some of these and be spared with the trolls.
