Usually I just respond with a simple "bye" since I could care less about people leaving the game with petty complaints, but this post is too rich for me to pass up responding to.
I'm sick of the constant shitty ass grinding and crappy changes
What specifically constitutes "shitty ass grinding and crappy changes"? I'm guessing you are talking about the Seasonal updates, specifically Undying and Dawn. To an extent, I don't entirely disagree, these content drops are pretty light from a content standpoint and have objectives to grind for whether it is Triumphs to complete, weapons to obtain, etc. Now let's compare this to Destiny 1. What content updates did we get between The Taken King and Rise of Iron? The answer of course is the infamous "April Update" which would barely constitute an update by D2's standards. It has 2 story missions, 1 strike, and a reskin game mode that got old after about a month. You say these updates are bad, but you are comparing it against a game that didn't have these type of updates at all. Do you remember all of the constant content droughts of D1? I remember getting very bored of the game in February 2016 and having very little to do from then until September 2016, over half a year later! I would have killed for an update like Season of Dawn during that time.
Destiny 1 was the best game of this franchise.
The question of quality of content is always up for debate, however, I think most people are blinded by nostalgia. Towards the tail end of D1, all you would hear is people complaining about the game and wanting something new in D2, then D2 launches and people complain about the lack of content in a brand new game which is not a fair comparison at all. There are parts of D1 that I really enjoy, but I personally enjoy the gameplay and abundance of activities in D2.

2000 hours is a pretty decent amount, is it possible that you burned yourself out?
You guys ruined raids by over complicating them with too many mechanics and adding stupid tokens for revives.
This reason for not liking raids in D2 is just rich. You were probably the player that would always call 'add duty' and never learn any of the mechanics. The raids in D2 are incredibly easy, you just have to learn how to do them. If you didn't want to take the time to do that, maybe you aren't actually a raider.
Strikes and Nightfalls should have stayed the way they were in D1.
I would have agreed with you up until Shadowkeep. The new difficulty system with Nightfalls makes them an actual challenge with enticing rewards. Nightfalls are definitely in the best place they've been in Destiny's history. It would be nice to have Strike scoring back, but that's pretty minor.
Crucible should have stayed the way it was in D1.
The fate of Crucible in D2 is a testament that listening to the community is NOT always a smart idea. When D1 was towards the end of its life cycle, all you would hear is that 4v4 is the more competitive game mode and that Destiny should have it. Bungie listened and it led to the downfall of Crucible at D2 launch. Given the bad start, I think Crucible is in an okay place, but much room for improvement.
This new battle pass bull shit grind every season is what really pushed me over the edge.
If the battle pass pushed you over the edge, you need help. With the amount of time you play, getting rank 100 is not a grind, you can get it just by playing the game. I got rank 100 just this past week without doing any sort of bounty farming or shared wisdom teams. I just played the game and got it done. Also, how is having a system that provides extra loot by leveling up a bad thing? It's nice to have reasons to level up for a change.
It pains me to leave because there are so many unanswered questions but I am just burnt out and over it.
Looks like we have a"but I gotta be riiightttt" one over here. Look buddy-o, the game is good, but...all it is now is... ahem..."activities".Boring as fuk. I love getting good rolls. But...that's all there is to do. And ... if i could count the massive amount of bounties I've done. It's nuts. While bungie works on D3, d2 will continue to be 3 hours of content spread across months. The cat has been out of the bag for very long time and it's not going back in. I turned the game on this morning did some bounties and turned it right back off. There's nothing to explore, no myster,y not much of anything besides bounties or crucible match or sitting in some kind of discord of some ridiculous nonsense to look for group. I do like the ordeal every now and then but I just needed time these are strikes that have been around for a year or more. It's tiring. I'm on BP level 74. Got a couple of things out of it. And I don't feel any more fulfilled. it's because you are a glutton for punishment doesn't mean everybody else has to be. When you want to be right so bad you tend to overlook stuff like this. When you turn your game went to a bunch of stupid activities this is what's going to happen. If you don't agree with that then Vaya con dios.
Looks like we have a"but I gotta be riiightttt" one over here.
I'm guessing your selective reading glossed over the parts where I agreed with the OP, not everything in the game is perfect (most is far from it), but the comparisons that are consistently made between D1 and D2 overlook the many issues D1 had. The main contention I see is that the new seasonal activities are boring, and yes, they are nothing to write home about in terms of having any sort of longevity, but you have to compare it to activities of equal standing in D1 before you can make the comparison. You need to compare The Taken King and Rise of Iron to Forsaken and Shadowkeep. If you start with that comparison, just comparing the yearly DLC content by itself, I would have to agree I think D1 is better, but not by a massive margin. THEN, you compare the remaining content throughout the year, which is where D2 outshines D1 completely.
There's nothing to explore, no myster,y not much of anything besides bounties or crucible match or sitting in some kind of discord of some ridiculous nonsense to look for group.
After 3-4 months after the launch of a September DLC, what activities were there to do in D1? The answer is next to nothing.
Deleted all my characters
Nah, he didn't

Yer he did, you have to leave 1 character as bungies game requires it.
