We need more options to get pinnacle gear
I mean the title says it all really. We need more ways to get and earn and play for pinnacle gear, we also need prime engrams to drop pinnacle gear. Or even a slight increases giving the rate they drop for myself.
Because once you’ve hit 950, prime engrams are useless, the weekly strikes and cruicble and don’t forget the new vex offensive weeklys are also useless. As these only award tier 1, 2 and 3 powerful drops which are useless. As the only way to get higher light level is through the pinnacle gear which is lacking in activities to actually earn this gear.
Bungie I love Destiny, and I’m just giving some feedback on the current state of affairs really
Please please gives us more ways to earn and get pinnacle gear

97 RepliesWe're currently monitoring responses to the +2 change to pinnacle drops. If we were to make all prime engrams pinnacle level, I feel feedback would quickly turn into pinnacles feeling meaningless. Players would get through the 950-960 level track pretty fast. That said, I'll make sure we get feedback to the team over prime engrams losing value when you hit 950.

No. Pinnacle power should be meaningful but attainable. +2 pinnacle is perfect.

15 RepliesRemember when we could hit 400 light by farming literally any activity and leveling up our factions? Remember when we could max out 2 ability cooldowns and adjust Mobility, Armor, and Recovery in the skill tree? Remember when elitist neckbeards didn't ruin this game for everyone else?

Agree. Not everyone does Raids - its sort of dumb that you have to wait for a special event (Banner - Festival of the Lost) in order to get ths pinnacle gear. I like Banner but when it is only 3 or 4 times a season it will take me forever to get all three guardians ranked up - btw I did not know about saving my Banner bounties and was happily cashing them in - now I’m hoarding them like Scrooge McDuck sitting on a pile of gold.

I don't think there needs to be more sources, personally Im just kinda tired of LFG for nearly everything

There are 13 sources of pinnacle gear per character this week. 39 chances to level up at +2.

No, it’s be too easy at a point plenty of ways to get it now. Raid master nightmare hunts 100k nightfall. Iron banner when it’s around. Multiply that by 3 characters at max power and you don’t have a problem.

As long as its tied to difficult content. Pinnacle is meant for people who put in the work for it. I want to earn my rewards. I don't want them handed to me on a silver platter.

47 RepliesThe entire pinnical power system is a mistake. All it does is punish casual players and allow jerks to place another irrelevant obstacle in the way of people seeking to end game content. Like my clan and I did a master level nightmare hunt and the fact was that being nearly one shot by everything simply wasn’t fun so it sort of takes all the fun and variety out of the end game content as well. Not to mention that the most accessible pinnacles are all pvp which a lot of players hate. Hell some pvp fans hate IB. What’s confusing is why the system exists. Why bar people from getting to max light? In a month the light will be raised again so why make it impossible for most players to get to max light before then?

1 ReplySo beyond the lack of pinnacle sources are you guys happy with PVE in general? I personally find it bad. Having to put the special perks only on HC, subs, and Auto? You can't use exotics... It seems very limiting. I just noticed today that there are some pinnacle rewards for some things like the nightmare hunts, which I don't really care for them. I can't really get into the NF's scoring system either. Maybe next season will be better, but I'm not holding my breath.

1 Replywell i mean you have the raid, nightmare hunts, haunted forest iron banner, pit of heresy, nightfall... and no primes are not irrelevant since they drop at your level you can bring up the rest of your gear throught the week so your favorite gear is always at highest level you can be. so lets tally up the total pinnalce drops shall we? raid x1 nightmare hunts x1 haunted forest x1 iron banner x4 pit of heresy x1 nightfall (100k) x1 all at plus 2 power, with good rng you could be maxed waaaay before the season ends. adding anymore just defeats the purpose of having them to being with...

1 ReplyPrime engrams are actually super useful now in the new system. Once you have half your gear being a +2 all powerful and prime engrams can normalize your armor that is below your new gear score. Example: You have 3 weapons at 952, and a helmet at 952. Your new gear score is 951. But your arms chest legs and class item are 950. You can continue to farm pinnacle which will now be 953, however if you get any weapon or a helmet it'll be a +1. It would take getting 3 pinnacle drops as your 950 items (arms/chest/legs/class) to become 952 base gear score. If you get any dupes this will take longer. If you normalize your gear to 951 or higher you start to notice you are getting to 952 a lot faster. A single pinnacle will still be 953, however if you get two pinnacle drops in your 951 to reach 952 base gear score unlike before. According to bungie 960 should be a grind to get, and requires some luck. You can blind luck the entire thing each week, or spend more time to normalize and reduce the chance of getting bad rng and get there technically faster :)

Bungie constantly changing things cases more issues than their needs to be. I mean when has changing how we level up stop since D1 y1? This company never looks at the long run on how things will play out that just this forum alone is constantly asking for improvements. This shouldn't be happening 5-years later when it comes to a leveling system. There should be more ways to acquire pinnacle gear. It doesn't need to be "everything", but it wouldn't hurt to add a couple more options.

We have plenty. Max power doesn’t matter and at least I don’t care so neither should you really. Just play this game the way you want. You can make any build you want and build your own slaying machine. Endless possibilities I really like what they did with the new armor

Think of 950 being the cap. Treat Pinnacle rewards as a small gain for the hardcore to chase. 👍 If it’s power level you care about, it’s more efficient grinding power through the artefact anyway.
