Ok. I've been gone since POE and the Fallen King, and I've decided to come back after learning Activision is out of the picture (Good for you Bungie). However there's has been a bunch of stuff that has happen and no explanation as to how or why. My friend told me that everything would be explained after the first mission "where you are going to fight in the tower", but none of that happen. Instead it was Destiny 1 all over again, and had to go through the cosmodrone. I get to the tower and the place is a maze filled with people moping around telling me to get them. Go get who? Why? At this point the story feels so disjointed that I'm having a hard time carrying. It feels like it's not my battle to fight.
A quick Google search later I learn that I'm missing a big story line mission called Homecoming that's supposed to unite Destiny 1 and 2, but I guess the new light update took that out in favor of the Destiny 1 intro. WHY? Why does it make sense to relive the beginning of the game if your suddenly going to be dumped a completely different reality? None of this makes sense and it has put a bad taste in my mouth already. Now everything I see wrong triggers me and makes want to quit, like the lack of indicators of where I'm supposed to go next for the main story line, been playing for 2 days and I've yet to play a campaign mission.
Not good, not good at all. Hopefully I'm missing something and someone here can point me to the right direction, or this is going to be a short lived e experience.
Update: Went to talk to Amanda and yup, there they are. Started the quest and now I'm on my way to enjoy the story. Thanks all.

From what I've been hearing, Bungie really screwed the pooch on the new light experience with new and returning players. They apparently cut out all the integral parts of the D2 introduction and left an empty desert of an experience with no real direction that new players are just dropping out of out of pure confusion. Another Bungie failed experiment.
