And it -is- about what people like; if they don't like it they don't play it. Player pool shrinks which is the problem we've been facing. So please, keep sticking your head in the sand.

Your analogy does not make sense. In the real world l, skill is rewarded. An NBA team will play an NBA team and a recreational basketball team will face another recreational basketball team but they are not both fighting for the NBA cup.
