Every "survival" match even solo queue just turns into a camp the heavy ammo game. Every round.
It's bad enough how many easy one shot kill weapons are in comp do we really have to throw in AoE rocket launchers too? On what are usually small maps?
I thought the whole point of "competitive" was supposed to be about player skill? About your aim, your movement, your tactics, full of close calls and intense heart pounding fights. Not who has grinded for the best 1 shot kill weapon and who can camp the heavy ammo the hardest.
It's so sad and disappointing. You're BUNGIE you're responsible for arguably the best multiplayer shooter in history, Halo. What happened??

You do realise that without heavy people can just camp in their spawn the whole game? Or, once they have a life advantage, they can just camp till the round timer runs out. Heavy ammo promotes aggressive play and good map control, this rewards those that play the map well and punishes passive play maintaining a healthy game pace. Creating an environment where people can just camp their spawn without any means of breaking that camp is unhealthy and would create a far worse experience.
-
No heavy, and you only start off with one round in your special weapon. That way you are forced to use your primary. And for those shiteheads using jotunn in comp, they only get one round.
-
I'll pass along feedback on removing Heavy altogether. Current plan for Heavy changes is here.

Yes remove heavy from comp ;)
-
No. They remove Heavy, they'll have to removed special as well, cuz comp players will just move to the next cheap OHK weapons.
-
You know I was this sounds wack. Then I thought back to D1 when heavy only spawned in one round. Remembering the sick clutches with primaries and secondary weapons. Perhaps when trials of whatever gets added back in. If it even does. I would like to see some pinnacle pvp get added back in, with no heavy.

Edited by Zak: 10/10/2019 3:08:25 PMI’m not a fan of heavy but it needs to be in the game, otherwise it will just turn into year 3 D1 trials with people just sitting in spawn with snipers. It promotes aggression and that’s a good thing. Maybe it should be tweaked a bit but taking it completely out is a mistake imo.
-
No. Heavy is supposed to give the players a sense of map control so that we don't camp with scouts and snipers like year one.
-
Good lord, you people are crying over rocket launchers? You wouldn't have survived D1 Y1 with the VoG LMG holding 150 rounds on pickup.
-
The heavy exists as a way to force engagements and make a more active and dynamic experience. It should probably be later in each round, but should still happen like it currently does.
-
Wouldn't help to much.
-
Anyone who says “if there was no heavy people would camp in the back of the map” never played d1 or d2 trials
-
Comp should be a curated loadout (just like scorch) with guns that aren’t available anywhere else in the game. No heavy. Make it about actual skill. Bring D1 style Trials back and it is anything goes just like D1 with one heavy round.
-
revoker and erintil are more of an issue tbh
-
-
There are some issues that can also be addressed - dedicated servers, better skill elo matchmaking system, no supers will be great, a lot less heavy ammo as you propose, and make the weapons the same for everybody so the real skill shine. But overall for me personally Bungie made some really good changes in the latest release of the game.

Mad cos bad 👍
-
Agreed, you just rush the heavy every single round, kinda dumb.
-
Maybe get better at controlling it for yourself
-
It's the only objective to fight over in survival. PTFO. If you remove the objective...then it's just team death match with limited spawing. That sounds boring.
-
Quit the bullshït. We need new modes like Halo: Team snipers (only) Team br's (pulse rifles ony) Team dmr's (scouts only) Team secondary's (for shotgun and fusion lovers) This is the change we need. And modes where the only skills depends on your gun and how you move with them, so, bye bye supers. If this is implement in the game, i go and play rite naww
-
I think remove heavy and make the game mode countdown that way you still had an objective to fight over
-
Can we please remove primary, secondary, and heavy weapons? Can we please remove supers? Can we please eliminate melee and jumping? It's all too OP! What we need is a walking simulator where we sit down together and talk out our problems.
-
- Anti-Zone type grenades. - - Deny heavy ammo areas. - Supers on heavy ammo areas when spawn is near. These were tactics against heavy ammo camping in D1, they still work.
-
Sure. Just pay 30$.
-
Just gain control of it
