You can get materials from other sources, you don't have to buy them. E.g. The nightfall, raids, and the season pass
-
You can get some from difficult activities
-
Which are rather demanding in time and effort as you need to form up fireteam and be high enough in LL. Nopt to mention it is not 100% drop from what I can gather. Meanwhile masterworkiong the armour is something you would like to do as it is unlocking more mod slots and energy. Not to mention the cost as pointed by OP is currently to prohibitive to obtain mats by simply buying them and therefore it could be cut out.
-
This is also not true. Nightfalls have matchmaking now And drop the required materials Please, if you don't know what's going on, don't talk about it
-
This is also not true. Nightfalls have matchmaking now And drop the required materials Please, if you don't know what's going on, don't talk about it
Take your own advice. I have seen you in multiple threads commenting on the season pass and shadowkeep, neither of which you own or actually understand what they comprise. Smh
-
Damn I didn't know they removed infusion for those who don't own shadowkeep
-
Smh, you really are ignorant. Read the response. Don't ignore it in favour of your own confirmation bias. multiple threads What comprises shadowkeep and season of the undying.
-
Yeah j asked what content is in them .which is also why I've not made a single comment about either one as if I know what I'm talking about other than you get free content. Which is true What does that have to do with infusion, the topic of this thread, though?
-
It has to do with your advice to other people, which is what I responded to. It's not exactly a difficult concept to grasp 😆
-
My advice has been to just play the game to get the items they need. Which is... How you get the content?
-
Actually, your advice was to not talk about issues that you don't understand 😆 I have said my piece
-
And I stand by that. What don't I understand about infusion. Please clarify what I've said that's incorrect as an example of my ignorance
-
And I stand by that. What don't I understand about infusion. Please clarify what I've said that's incorrect as an example of my ignorance
A) What part ofI have said my piece Did you not understand? B) That response literally just proved my point, again. Why should I explain, again, what I have already explained? Right, for the final time on this subject, I have said my piece.

Running a nightfall a couple times is easier then grinding out 10 enhancement cores. You just need to wait a week. You shouldn't have optimized gear within the first week.
-
I am not going to do anything with my gear at least until I get to 900 ll. But the problem is simple to high cost for something rather basic. At least in my opinion I should masterworked my armour before end game content as end game content should be hard and demand from me to be flexible and tactical. Not to mention run couple of NF on hardest difficulty still can take hours as rng could f*ck with you....
-
This isn't "basic". What Armor 2.0 represents is the END-GAME 'min-maxing" of builds. This process is ALWAYS expensive and time-consuming in a game like this. The problem is that Destiny has traditionally BLURRED the line between levelling up (verticl progression) and min-maxing (horizontal progression). So people treat them as if they are the same. They aren't. Unless you're looking to squeeze EVERY last bit of power and efficiency out of a build there is NO REASON to pour the resources into an armor set to get it to an energy level of 10..... ...and absolutely no reason to be doing it this early into Shadowkeep. Shit. Now the that the two functions are seperated, I'm not even really infusing much of anything. Because most of the stuff dropping right now don't have very good stat rolls.
-
I know, people are dumb. Warframe min-max builds take forever to get the required mods AND THEN TO LEVEL THEM UP. But it’s just cool to hate bungie, so yeah.
-
To be able to mingle with your build is all nice and dandy but you need first to have build to mingle with. Currently armour can drop at what masterwork level? At best I have seen some level 5. This mean 5 points for customisation. This translate into 2 mediocre to basic mods or one more potent. I really can not see much room for building truly my armour.
-
To be able to mingle with your build is all nice and dandy but you need first to have build to mingle with.
No. You just need a vision fo what it is you want to accomplish.
Currently armour can drop at what masterwork level?
Its random. Though there is probably a bias to armor dropping with better stats and higher energy levels in the harder end-game content. But that is neither hear nor there. UNLESS YOU ARE PLANNING ON SLOTTING THE SUPER-SPECIALIZED "ENHANCED" MODS INTO YOUR ARMOR, YOU HAVE NO NEED TO POWER UP YOUR ARMOR MUCH PAST THAT ENERGY LEVEL OF 5. Because the multipurpose mods analogous to what the vast majority of armor dropped with last year....only require a couple of energy points.
This translate into 2 mediocre to basic mods or one more potent. I really can not see much room for building truly my armour.
.Which is what all the armor that wasn't RAID armor or Reckoning Armor dropped with last year. If you want armor that is better than that...then its going to cost you. But then that is how GOOD RPGs work. If you want the best gear, you're going to have to GRIND for it. Grind to get it....GRIND to fully unlock its potential. This is no longer a game where you can play a couple days a week, and expect to have the best stuff in the game.
-
No. You just need a vision fo what it is you want to accomplish.
Does anyone know, with certainty, what any of these mods do - what advantage they give the wearer?
-
Min maxing isn't really horizontal progression. It's more like sharpening the very top of your vertical progression. Horizontal progression is having 2 different armor set that work completely differently but have similar levels of effectiveness or power. I dont have an opinion on the actual conversation yet but that description bothered me.
-
No. Vertical progression is your ability to deal damage and to withstand damage. Which, in Destiny, is determined by your power level...and to some extent by your weapon loadout. Horizontal progression is what FORM that damage takes...and how its applied over time. So Horizontal progression in Destiny (and most RPGs) is determined by build-making/theory crafting. The difference between the two is that small changes in vertical power, can have a very dramatic effect on the player experience. Whereas with horizontal progression, the impact is limited....and often it will take a large investment of time, energy and resources to see a noticeable change. Armor 2.0 represents horizontal progression. Power level vertical progression.
-
Wasn't this conversation about masterworking a single armor set? I dont necessarily disagree with what you are saying but we are only talking about a player having 1 build and then maximizing the effectiveness of that build through masterworking. It's only horizontal if you switch to a different build or armor set or perk loadout or weapon or subclass.

Good luck with this. No matter what you say to him, you will be wrong.
