EDIT EDIT: Lets be real, its just an emblem, the guy wasnt charging, doesnt charge for anything in fact...and does triple comp carries. BUT it does beg the question that if he got in twice either side of gernader jake... whats the point of trying to get in yourself? Might as well just get a Streamer to do the community "event" for you. Kind of defeats the point right?

70 RepliesRemember back in the day before online console play when friends would go to each other's houses to play video games? Every now and again someone in the group maybe had difficulty with a challenge so they'd hand their controller over to a friend that can get that challenge done. Their friend beats the challenge and hands the controller back to them. Account recovery is the online version of that. The major difference is now people do it with strangers and sometimes pay them. It's not my money to spend, so it's really not my concern. The idea of someone playing and beating challenges for someone else is not something new to gaming though. I would imagine Bungie doesn't see this as a huge problem. We also don't know everything about how they handle banning people or locking out accounts. It's never been something they've really advertised.

12 RepliesIT is crazy how many streamers get access to these events yet in 5 years of playing, Nobody I know has every been in one of these challenges. It does make you question how it is that the streamers get matched seemingly more often.

1 ReplyCommunity events seriously need to be rotated in terms of the times they take place. Really they just need to change the times and days so 1. These events don’t only take place during regular work hours (change 5-7PM PST for US) 2. Rotate times so our EU/ASIA players have a fair shake at these. (11AM-1PM PST for EU, etc for ASIA) I understand that they do it so they don’t have to go out their PST work schedule but the events RARELY happen and are only a few hours. You can’t really call it a community event if the entire community can’t participate without sacrifice.

5 RepliesOne one hand, having someone else use your account to do better than you would is like sending someone else in to take a test for you. But on the other hand this is an entertainment product and not physician boards. If I was an ace and my RL friends said "hey, you're really good can you get the recluse for me." I'd do it, I think a lot of other people would too. But that would be it, a few extra go arounds. The recoveries who live in comp are making things artificially difficult for the people who are legit trying.

6 RepliesBasically if Bungie gives emblems to the accounts that were played on (with the head of Microsoft and Bungie) they are explicitly endorsing breaking their TOS. Keep an eye on those accounts. If they are wearing the emblem in the future Bungie has shown themselves to be a complete joke.

14 RepliesSo I think account recoveries are stupid to begin with. You’re paying somebody to play a video game you paid for to play. What’s the point? (To get you pinnacle weapons) okay, but you still are gonna suck at the game and your Luna/NF/Revoker etc isn’t going to do anything for you if you don’t have any skills to back it up. I’m not gonna pull some random kid off the street, toss some bunker gear on them and expect them to perfectly and safely fight a fire. Same concept. Here....... But the worst part about this whole situation (aside from the whole TOS argument) is that somebody has a recovery being done (paid or not, who cares) for the freakin’ strike playlist 😂. I mean, cmon. That’s like paying somebody to do patrols for you. If the concept of a recovery wasn’t pathetic enough to begin with, this person is having somebody do the easiest and most kind/numbing and repetitive part of the game for him 😂😂😂💩💩💩

This is not the same as a recov lol. That's his boy he's just getting an emblem for him. It's not like it's a reward that he wasn't skilled enough at the game to get himself.

And contact Microsoft to ask them to console + account ban him for breaking everyone's ToS's Hmm while they're at it, they should take a look at everyone the guy is friends with, maybe a few of them are paid recov people too.. maybe even check his clan if he has one and filter out people, lotta potential people who should get the b& hammer from bungie and sony/microsoft That's a whole lotta house cleaning, but yknow.. when there's one cockroach, "but wait! there's more!"
