  • So I just read it, and my main concern is Luke's obsession with challenge. Bungie apparently believes that challenge = fun. I firmly disagree with this. Challenge is only fun when it's fair. Destiny is punishing. It always has been. Destiny always changes the rules on us. Destiny always changes our tool kit. Bungie tries to break it's players instead of challenging them. If bungie want's destiny to be a challenging game they need to rethink their approach. 1) give us consistent tools to work with. Our tools are Primary weapons, special weapons, heavy weapons, supers, and abilities. Decide when and where we should be able to use these and design around that. Right now if feels like you give us a tool decide it's too much then take it away. That's not good for anybody. Your dev's don't have a consistent sandbox to design around and players hate having fun tools taken away. 2) Make counter play interesting. For example, how do you want players to deal with enemies who stomp? Do you want us to attack them at close range, long range, or in some other way? Right now there are tons of mechanics in the game that punish players for interacting with them. Stop doing that. 3) Learn from your past I don't excuse the whisper of the worm nerf because YOU ALREADY KNEW IT WOULD BE TOO MUCH. You nerfed the weapon twice in Destiny 1. Yeah D2 needed more power, but doing things you KNOW will be a problem in the future isn't a solution. Plus I understand that when things are made at the same time there can be problems. But you have to implement lessons you've learned 2, 3, or 5 years ago or otherwise things never improve. 4) Destiny always feels like an experiment, and not in a good way Bungie it's been 5 years. I agree with luke that if the RPG is too strong it dilutes the action, if the Action is too strong it invalidates the RPG. You need to decide what mix you want and stick with it. Is it 60% RPG 40% action? 70% action 30% Rpg? 50 / 50 for both? Pick one and go with it. You keep redefining it every 6 - 9 months and it's just exhausting. If you want to make Destiny the Dark souls of FPS games fine, but remember if you want to be hard you have to be fair otherwise your players are just gonna get pissed off.

            I like Gambit and Prime. It’s fun, exciting and just a crazy mode of mixed stuff. Primes roles are great and like a raid you have to adapt to a role, learn and become better. Sadly players who enter prime don’t understand this and usually screw up the natch. I’d like to see both stay with Prime getting way more love. Regular is fun but it lacks real intensity. More maps, rotating enemies as prime evils and by that I mean not always facing taken as the main boss. Let’s have a massive Fallen Captain / Shank / Dreg as a Prime Evil when you face Fallen. Constantly having Taken as Primeevils does get stale esp when you know teams can use one particular element to melt that boss within the first few seconds (as I have seen many times). I find that odd considering it doesn’t seem likely with a simple 2x buff would do that unless more than two envoys are summon first. I believe there is only two each time unless smaller ads and blockers count. Invasion is fine as it is. People -blam!- on that don’t realise teams can stack motes to pop the portal more often. Level advantages aren’t too bad after all if your not as max level don’t play Prime. There is a reason to be using the prime armour sets

          • Not a fan that Datto has that much say on the Well nerf. Honestly is pretty ridiculous. As a warlock main I also never have and never will feel an absolute need to run a well because I have to. I run well because I like it! Geomag and chaos reach does much more damage than well does. Just why do you guys have dattos opinions (which suck for the most part) have such a heavy implication on what you do with your game. I don’t get it.

            • Well, i got a lot to say here, and probably wont get half of it out. I’m glad the whisper ornaments sold well but the players who bought them to celebrate their accomplishment [i]will not forget[/i] the nerf that rendered that item useless to them. Remember when watching your favorite streamers that Datto is not going to buy a million copies of your game. You have lots of players who [i]also want to have fun while playing.[/i] Fun is important too. I can not stress this enough. In Destiny we could go out on patrol, throw as many grenades as we liked, have our armor tuned for fast super regen and kick the living crap out of everything. THEN when we wanted a challenge we would get together and take on a nightfall strike , which was WAY more challenging than anything you have going in a playlist right now. The point here, you may ask? Balance. That’s it, one word. It is fine to keep the cosmetics in ever verse. The problem is that at the same time you have these cool items for sale in the store the rewards we are getting from your latest game are sub-par re-skins. So the idea that we should get thematic gear based on the new event is nice in theory but in reality we, the players, are getting the short end of the stick. To this day Destiny still out shines Destiny 2 in this regard. We have always put up with a fairly large amount of re-skins from destiny BUT we used to get new items every season from all the factions. Again one word to sum it up, [i]balance[/i]. I know a lot of people work on this game, and the responses from the community can be very nasty. Unfortunately many of the decisions Bungie makes seem rather obviously designed to exploit their players. In short some of the abuse you folks take are because of that.

              • I'm feeling frustrated by your comments on eververse. That is a direct lie compared to what you agreed with at your community summit. We wanted in game ways to get this stuff and you know it. I will not ever buy silver again. Most of what I read about changes sounded like nerfs. I'm not holding out for much hope here.

              • Sorry bungie team got burnt out from creating new content/events for season pass holders. However, these events keep Destiny alive and this is what the annual pass is suppose to offer. Maybe I thought wrong. Silly me!!!

Here’s how it’ll go, just like with the exotics nerfs: I’m still gonna be here, use the effected items less and continue on. But I will complain because 1. We’ve beaten raids without well before 2. There are mods that still increase its effectiveness 3. You like to change things without all content in mind

                • I like Gambit Prime, too. I wish the roles were more defined, though. That is, I wish the buffs conferred by the armor were more significant and relevant.

                • I sincerly appreciate the time and effort spent on the write-up, but I am not certain the underlying tone on a number of items aligns with a majority of the feedback from the playerbase. In my opinion, excessive ground-pounding, spamming enemy abilities, and rare ammo drops does not equate to a 'challenging activity', only an inferior or inadequately designed mechanics. There was no mention of the poor resource economy or lack of rewarding gameplay anywhere in the write-up. In my opinion, at the end of the day, a majority of the focus on development should be designing a game that continues to be enjoyable for the majority of your playerbase, which supports your game on a continuous basis, not a small number of the population.

                • My feedback on gambit prime. “Matches end quicker, so it feels more efficient. The invading frequency feels lower, so I can Collect and dunk.” Quite the opposite of your opinion. Matches take too long. There’s too many invasions. Do you even play prime?

                  • Spawning into a Gambit Prime match with a few seconds left with the other team DESTROYING the one that we spawn into need to be looked at. ESPECIALLY if we are penalized leaving a match like that.

                  • Delmonico Cut: Part 1 (aged) Kind of excited for tomorrow and to hear about the next steps toward experiential depth. Can y'all get the band back together for a stream or a podcast thingy again? Those are great and convey the companies goals and feelings better. I'd promise not to spam chat with terrible jokes. Luke and Mav part 2 please, I'll wait. Btw, I'm cool with these steamer kids, but I'd prefer hearing and/or seeing actual bungie employees once in a while too. Do it!

                  • Make the raids more more complex, more mechanics heavy, more movement (LIKE VAULT IN LAST WISH), will solve a lot of issues This will allow you to tune the life of bosses, atm they have so much life because of damn warlocks and their OP well+ luna Until that no skill combo isnt getting nerfed , i agree that you cant make enemies anything but bullet sponges NERF WARLOCKS TO THE GROUND

                    • Keep gambit prime, expand the armor perks, make them obtainable from prime. Vary Boss mechanics so well can't be relied on (it will be hard due to dps phases) but do not nerf (except for the vest) so your average non streamin joe can use it as a crutch. Maybe make it so that roaming supers have a better pay off? Buff other supers, but nerf range on 6 shot gg, that should not out range everything (not sure how it is on console but on pc it is a plague in gambit) give em an armor buff if needed but unless they drawing on me in mid/close range they should suffer some penalties.
