15,000 BRIGHT DUST JUST FOR THE GLOWS?

AND THE ONES FROM LAST YEAR DON’T WORK, OR EVEN AT LEAST GIVE A DISCOUNT? AFTER HOW MUCH BRIGHT DUST THE TRIBUTE HALL COST? Season of Opulence indeed. Edit to elaborate: Why was Bright Dust ever involved in Tribute Hall? A currency reserved for Eververse suddenly being of any kind of importance to Calus? Yet people are still sitting around with full stacks of Baryon Bough that are good for LITERALLY. NOTHING. Then there’s the matter of how much cheaper the glows were last year, while also being available for free unlock through leveling up. Now it’s way more expensive with no alternative. It’s just as backwards as when Year 1 drop rate for Exotics was super high and Three of Coins were unnecessary. Then Year 2 comes, Exotic drop rate gets severely nerfed and Three of Coins are removed. It’s such backwards logic that gets us nowhere. And the fact that those who were here in Year 1 and claimed full sets of Majestic armor, as well as all the glows, had that armor invalidated in WEEKS. The glows became USELESS. Now logic would state that those who worked for them should be able to use the same glows on the updated gear, yet we have updated Ornaments. Which would be fine and all, if there we any kind of lessened cost as a result, but there’s absolutely nothing. It’s just one thing after another. And if this is the trend going into Shadowkeep? Yeah. Edit again for those saying “just don’t buy them”: what then, would you say is the draw of solstice of heroes? What’s one of the biggest things Bungie has advertised about SoH since the Opulence Roadmap came out? Did Bungie ever act as though the Majestic Armor was the real endgame of SoH, or did they constantly show the armor with the Ornaments? You know, the Ornaments similar to the Revelry flair we temporarily got, but for free? The glow packages we got FROM ENGRAMS LAST YEAR? That if you just played enough, you received at NO COST? The Ornaments have always been one of the biggest motivators of SoH because they’re the closest we’ve got to Chroma in D2, aside from Prime armor that only really glows in Gambit. Yet it’s locked behind such a ridiculous wall of BD. The idea of unlocking this kind of endgame cosmetic through actual gameplay seems to be OUT OF THIS WORLD in the modern gaming industry. Why not make it so masterworking your Solstice Gear grants the glows? It seems to be such a foreign concept that used to be natural to Bungie. Looking at YOU Nanophoenix. “BuT iTs STiLl pUrChAseAble ThRoUgh GaMepLaY” Bounties give 150 Bright Dust for ridiculous objectives. Five Gambit matches to get 150 Bright Dust, when I could dismantle an RNG drop Exotic Ship from a Best of Year One and get FIVE HUNDRED. And once again, here we go again with Shadowkeep. And just so everyone is aware, I’ve now purchased all three glows. And now have 160 Bright Dust. But here comes SHADOWKEEP WITH NO ENGRAMS, HANG ON TO YOUR SEATS BOYS AND GIRLS One more edit: I find it hilarious that the new Ornaments STILL SUFFER from the SAME BUG AS LAST YEAR, where the ornament for the Hunter cloak doesn’t glow properly in social spaces. Same exact bug, so it’s clearly THE SAME CODING with a little flair. Yet players who already HAD the glows cant use them. Smh. Last edit: done responding to people. • Sounds like you went a little crazy and got greedy with tribute hall and now you are crying cause you spent all your shit basically for no good reason. Maybe I’m hearing you wrong and I apologize if I am but that’s how it sounds to me.

        • The highlight of the event is the mini sparrow. The armor is meh and not worth it, especially since it will be vaulted for 50 light levels at start of Shadowkeep. What will happen next Solstice ?...grind similar armor and glows for Armor 3.0 ? This will be if Destiny is even still afloat by this time next year.

        • Isn't there a lawyer on here who can take care that Bungie never ever uses the word "season pass" anymore? Because the model they live is surely not the one of a season pass. Season pass in all other Games I know means, I get the entire content of something without having to buy little pieces that would cost more than a season pass in total. Here in D2 you pay for the priviledge to buy more shit for Silver? And of course shirts in their store lol. Last weekend, i checked my collection and although the season has lasted for some time already, I had ONE of the season 7 sparrows. Rest all I read is "Eververse". A year ago, I got EVERYTHING from Eververse just for playing the Game and getting the weekly item. 2-3 weeks before season ended, I had everything. This season? Not even a small portion because it was either sold for Silver directly or gated behind 1% RNG drop walls.

the more players leave (most D2 buyers already did), the more you remaining guys get milked ;) and no, its not activision to blame ... cosmetics are also part of the game you paid for , if you accept them to sell it to you twice you dont deserve any better

              • Seriously, 5k per glow doesn’t seem like all that much to me. If all glows stay active year round, and not just limited to an event, and there are more of these (assuming even cooler looking) coming, 5k seems completely reasonable for the most visible flair in the game.

                  • All of that doesnt matter when you realize that you can dismantle all your items to get bright dust Just by doing that I got 25k bright dust and I can get everything back for free when Shadowkeep launches.... There is absolutely no issue with that and what else do you buy with bright dust?

At first I so agreed with everyone complaining. Then I went back and looked at it again. It's 5000 for a element type but you get 5 glows. So that's only 1000 per armor glow piece. But one applied gets attached to all 3 characters. So that's only 333 per armor glow. But if I want all 3 then its back up to 1000 per armor glow. Based on the price of everything else in Eververse this is actually a good deal! BUT, when you have to spend a full 15,000 for everything THAT'S A LOT no matter how you break it down. Will I get all 3? Probably but that's because I have over 50k bright dust and that's after buying a lot of stuff the past couple of weeks. If you cringe on the price of the glows then do something vastly wiser and funner. Get the mini-sparrow! Best item Eververese ever hand. Funnest sparrow you will ever own! Then grab a couple friends and go race around the Rig on Titan with it! All the sting of 15k for glows will instantly vanish!

That's be because there is no innovation and longevity in this game that's suppose to be a MMO. And before people say it isn't, Destiny has always been a MMO, but extremely bare bones. And that is the problem. This game isn't designed for longevity. It's for designed for the short term and in the moment. Your armor and weapons get left behind to just to stay in your vault and MMOs don't normally render content irrelevant. Armor that gets left behind for better items can't be sold or traded to other players. On this issue, people give the excuse that trading isn't "earning" something or low level players shouldn't have good items. In those points, you people are wrong. If you trade an item that you earned, you earn what is given in return. And low level players can't equip high level items due to level restriction anyway. So there is no in game economy whatsoever. People also say this would attract more cheaters and people paying real money for items. People already pay to be carried through a raid and there's really no difference between paying for a raid carry or the item. The fact that you pay at all is the issue and you can't stop everyone from doing that. Perhaps items could be broken down into crafting materials. And yet we don't even have crafting! A basic MMO concept and we don't even have that. Raids and their drops become irrelevant due to this issue, on top of maps that have become irrelevant play areas due to lack of incentive (The Farm has little use, as a glaring example). And perhaps the most baffling thing is that D2 was not an expansion onto D1 itself, making you pay for recycled content and leaving behind your progress. That is not a game built for longevity. I hope D3 doesn't continue that trend, but be prepared. So without going on and on, simply this game is not designed for the long term.

                                    • It sucks that people don’t see the big picture. “Hyuck, I have 70k dust, sucks to be you!” Let’s see how long their dust lasts when Shadowkeep comes around. Oh well, it’s only $24 to get the glows. I guess if they don’t have dust they can just shell out far more money than what the content they’re getting is worth. “Hyuck, I ain’t poor, I’ll just buy silver.” Content keeps getting shittier, but Bung doesn’t care because ol’ Cletus “ain’t poor” and will just buy silver. And video games just keep getting shittier. The EAZ got boring before my first playthrough was over, and now I’m sure that I’ll be sent back to play strikes or public events... but that’s okay. Bungie will get ol’ Cletus’s money and Solstice will actually make more money in microtransactions than shadowkeep will make from the cost of the expansion. So why wouldn’t Bung keep charging dumbasses $24 for little armor glows that used to be earnable in game? The -blam!-ing idiots not only throw their money at the screen, they defend Bungie for bending them over.
