They’re now an independent company and they’ve been pumping content for us through nearly every month. You think they should just give us all of this for free and not pay all the workers, the organizers, the cleaners, their bills, etc? They’re -blam!-ing people with an independent business, not some evil organization out to get your money over something as non impactful as cosmetics, and you can buy it for bright dust anyway. Entitled. Edit: This thread has gone to the shitter, along with the entire forum. Cheapskates don’t know how it works in the real world so you ask for freebies in the virtual one. Done with this circus. 🤡

  • Oh buddy, you clearly have no idea how it works in the real world and got no clue how a business is run. Ignorant

  • And you do? I haven’t gotten a solid reply from the dozen of people that’ve replied to me today about why I’m totally wrong, just that I am, and they call me a name and leave. Kind of like what you’re doing, corporate spokesperson/game developer extraordinaire.

You not getting a reply could be due to the fact that what you are saying is comical. Because it indicates that Bungie is not able to pay their workers without microtransactions at this very moment in the game. Believe me if that was the case, everybody would have heard about it just like the other rumours. That aside, where we are at in destiny all players have paid upfront for the content. D2 hasn't become a F2P game yet but microtransactions of that business model has been to the full paying customers. I said what you said was comical also because "in the real world" no customer is responsible for the mistakes of their service provider and it doesn't concern them as long as they pay. Bungie is in this situation because they put themselves in it by making their own decisions to team up with Activision, and leave them as well as all other game changing decisions On the other hand, it is clear that Bungie is in a business model transition and making aggressive decisions towards that. They also seem to be prepared to lose some portion of their player base (whether it is 5% or40%) through this.

  • It's silly anyone should think that when they buy a "game", it is a complete game.

Especially one where every facet of it is consistently being updated nearly every week, as opposed to most devs selling a game and offering at most one or two DLCs and letting it die. Actually think: Destiny 2 has two years on it. How, you ask? They NEED Eververse to be both profitable and generous so they can keep making stuff like Shadowkeep and D3 by THEMSELVES for the future. And sure, they’ve gone too far on more than one instance, and I put down the game more than once just for it, but if they made the bright dust price too low for these sets they would not profit from them being put up for silver, and they’d hardly make anything from the lesser items. I don’t see how people would cry about bright dust if they actually invested time into this game.

  • Completely wrong. Bungie and Activision made more than enough money with past events, which allowed players to earn eververse items by playing the game. Bungie’s decision to remove the ability of earning new eververse items, by playing the game, was nothing more than them trying to make even more money.... Bungie, especially now without Activision, would get by just fine financially with the eververse system we had. If people want to defend the whole “only cosmetics” thing, that’s fine. I’m tired of false illusions that Bungie HAS to do this so that they can upkeep the game, because it’s completely false.

  • Are you for real? Using the argument that they need more revenue because they have to make and maintain the game "THEMSELVES".... By getting out of the deal with Activision, most people would see that they got rid of an expence. Or would you say that Activision is a charity that added a workforce for Bungie to use for free and they now have to employ said workers and pay them out of the surplus revenue they used to have? Destiny is already established and can stand on its own without expensive 3rd party marketing/publishing. Logic states that they now earn more without having to share part of the sales with Activision (who are a company with 1st priority to make money above all else, obviously)

  • Liberal? You were, and still are, off topic. Don’t push political terms on me when you’re just being *blind* to what literally IS. Get to a point, any point, or just get off the internet. We’re talking about cosmetics in a game, and how putting a cost on them is valid. Go.
