Maybe without enhancement cores we would no longer be able to fuse stuff together. We would have to strap everything together with duct tape, resulting in everyone looking like a kid with an overprotective mother going out in winter. It would get so bad with thousands of guardians having rares and legendaries strapped to them that the entire solar system would overflow with beautiful katamari-esque Guardian loot balls, that everything would eventually collapse into a singularity of loot until the game's code can no longer support it and ultimately tears it's way into the reality of other video game universes as a digital black hole of loot which turns out to be a raid in borderlands 3. But that's just my theory.

Nothing. Except it becoming apparent just how shallow the loot pool really is right now.

That’s just it nothing. Nobody wanted cores for infusion in the first place but now there’s this vocal minority out there that defends them to no end.

So the main defenses I see people saying in here for keeping cores are: 1.) Save your cores and manage them well 2.) It makes the game more impactful in some way, but no real specifics are given (or the inverse of the game will be bad in some way if they are removed. Too easy?) 3.) This topic is over whined about so lets not talk about it anymore 4.) Personal attacks on people wanting cores removed without actually contributing anything None of these things really address any actual negative to cores being removed. They are based more off of feelings than any actual impact on the game. Cores reduce build diversity. They promote one or two sets of meta gear and that is it. If you love meta than great! If you wanna try out other potential unique end game builds it will cost you greatly. That is a big negative. A much more specific reason than the ones listed above.

10 reasons to keep cores in Destiny 2: 1. Cores are shiny... but not as shiny as glimmer. Damned pretentious glimmer... trying to be the shiniest all the time... like it’s soooooo special. 2. Cores once saved my goldfish from drowning. She later died anyway, but that wasn’t the cores’ fault. She could hold her breath for an amazingly long time, but in the end she just wasn’t a very strong swimmer. Plus I’m pretty sure my new piranha may have eaten her. I never found her body. But hey, that just means no expensive funeral costs right!?! Although now the piranha’s not looking so hot. I think a bowl may be too small for him. He can only swim in one direction. Maybe I should get him some cores too... 3. Fallout 76 was a complete fiasco! Fallout 76 DIDN’T have cores, which could have helped the situation... ...So... yeah, cores... 4. Have you ever sprinkled cores on a ham and pineapple pizza? I know I haven’t, because that’s gross. But if cores are taken away when would we ever get the chance to try it, just to see how gross it really is?!? 5. Glimmer needs to be taken down a peg or two! Cores are the only thing I see that have a shot at doing just that! ...damned glimmer... 6. Research has shown that a strong core can protect your inner organs, reduce back pain, improve posture, and give you a general sense of overall well being. And that’s just ONE strong core, think about what hundreds of cores could do!!! 7. Cores have 50% less calories than ...oh... I dunno... say... GLIMMER!!! ...damned glimmer... 8. Edit: Upon further investigation I’m fairly certain the research from reason # 6 was talking about a different kind of core. But... it is spelled the same... so that’s gotta count for something. 9. Speaking of spelling, if you take the letters in the word “cores”: C-O-R-E-S and replace them with the letters G-R-E-A-T, it spells “great”. So when you think about it a little bit, cores... are actually great! 10. Cores have changed my life in ways you can’t imagine. Bungie: "Infusion wouldn't feel meaningful anymore!" I hate this argument they have. Infusion never has and never will feel meaningful or special. All it's there for is to allow you to bring weapons/armor up to your current max light so you can use them. Nothing about using two sidearms and a sword, a bunch of armor with bad perks, and no exotic slot just so you don't have to fork over rare materials to use good weapons screams 'meaningful' to me.

what would happen if they add no land beyond to the game again ?

People would freely infuse, and may end up master-working more often. according to bungie, this would be terrible.

The game had been so madly wrapped around the ECs that its to late to change them efficiently. They hardcoded into infusions, leveling up armor and enhancing weapons. Bungie has no clue at all on how to properly manage economy of a game so dont ever expect that portion of Destiny to ever be good. You will always struggle on ECs unless you find an exploit, along with materials as well. Even with spider it will still require you to farm mats you don't have.

& what insanely horrible thing have they caused being in the game? Every "defend" to the post is all based on an assumption. No one is yet to post facts.

it'll make casuals more casual , and that what will runie the entire game , they just gave you easy daily and weekly bounties you -blam!-ing lazy casual. you can get a MINIMUM of 90 cores / week , just by playing the game , and doing the gunsmith daily bounites . Know how to infuse , and grind for what you need instead of coming here whining Regards,

Honestly I keep wearing my pre season gear and keep the highest gear in my inventory. Once I hit the cap I infuse so I jump from 700 to 750 straight away.

People would complain about glimmer and planetary mats If it involves any effort at all its bad and Bungie should remove it

The only thing I can think of is is that Bungie will find a way to make it hard to raise your light level regardless. They might raise planetary matt cost to 75 per infusion or add motes of light back and u gotta use 1 mote each infusion. U get motes from leveling. You level far less than the amount of cores you can scavenge in a weeks time with the new system. I level up a max of 7 times a week. Whereas I get about 30 cores a week from playing and dismantling.

It would make the missing substance of D2 grind obvious. Also the Vex. The Division 2 is at the same point now. No builds or synergies beyond what devs allow.

While the core issue is annoying it's really not much of a issue at all,they are so easy to get.The 3 daily gunsmith bounties takes like 5mins to do so that is 9 per day for 15mins and can be done anywhere. Besides that it would make the game "to easy" and most would be max level in less then a week so after maybe 2-3 weeks most would be complaining there is no reason to play or nothing to do.You see it as a way to increase the grind but it really is not.If you are having issues with cores that is a 100% "you" problem. The goal is to keep you playing,more players the more $$$ Bungie gets to make more content and you all are unrealistic at thinking you should get full game sized content drops every week or so.

As much as a joke about be core broke, it really ain’t bad anymore. I do my gunsmith bounties everyday and get maybe 5 cores from deleting legendaries per day. Sure that’s purely luck but you don’t need to infuse every little thing and I learned that the hard way. Sometimes I have a worse problem with the planetary mats (looking at you Etheric Spiral).

Easy the next big thing ppl will complain about to make the game more casual. D1 followed this path and end result was d2 vanilla. Bungie needs to learn that not every idea the community gives is a good one. Let's not remove something that isnt broken. Sure it has flaws but now with current changes it's even more easy to obtain core. Now instead of removing them bungie could probably work on reducing the cost of cores needed to infuse. We will see what they do in Sept. Hopefully they dont follow the same trend and give in.
