Use the infinite forest to bring back d1 raids, strikes and missions.

Edit: After seeing some comments, I’ve decided to alter the idea. Free update. Use the infinite forest to bring back all missions and gear(raid and strike gear)from d1. Raids and strikes included. Because of the infinite forest, you can alter the paths and boss fights. Make them change every now and then as a randomly generated area, so you can’t consistently cheese it. Maybe add new gear that is similar, but is still different. This could be a match-made activity from orbit. You could also gather your own fireteam to play together. Instantly spawn into the raid, no running through the empty forest to get to the entrance. We could also have the infinite forest recreate old patrol zones from d1, such as Venus, The Cosmodrome and The Moon. Other features of the forest could be altered d2 year 1 strikes and with new strike specific gear. What are your thoughts?

  • Or... Make new content. Why would I pay $60 to play the content I already owned?

    • I’ve a better idea. Restart from the end of RoI in D1. Just scrap D2 and put it down to a fevered dream by our guardian. He/she wakes up and hears the shower running, goes to investigate and out pops Cayde, “Hey Guardian, thanks for letting me use your shower while mine’s repaired …… what’s a matter, you look like you’ve seen a ghost?” If it worked for Dallas in the 80’s why the -blam!- not for Destiny.😂

      • I’d love this but they might have issues with activision? Since activision and bungie where together for all of D1. Idk though.

      • Someone (I think me? Idk) had the idea of blending all of the D1 raids together in the Forest. But not exactly the same as the were. All encounters would be remixed in a surprising way. No time limits or weekly resets, take as long as you want, and guaranteed encounter themed loot would drop from bosses again (no blues).

      • What they should do is make it so all the raids have two modes. One is old way with 6 man max team with all rewards (armor, weapons, raid exotics and ornaments). Second mode can be run as 1 to 3 man max dungeon like dark monetary with armor and weapon rewards only. That way you get some who didn’t do the raids but would like a less mechanic driven event in a small team of 3.

        • I would rather if they was the bring back D1 raids, id rather they expanded them. For example imagine if our way to breaking the curse on the dreaming city meant we had to go further in the Vault of Glass using the teleporter we found in the Whisper of the Worm mission. All time lines are surposed to meet there right? what if we find that Vex/Taken (Cant remember its name) or the means to physically find it inside a deeper part of Vault in a similar fashion we got to finally explore more of the old Tower in the Outbreak perfected mission!

            • You make some valid points Kingjulianmort and i agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold

                  • I still say Bungie should allow players to make their own maps, game types, etc. with D2 asssets so we can play the game how we want to play it, rather than how Bungie want us to. One of the best things about Halo: Reach was being able to create your own maps, and people were incredibly inventive with that tool. Not to mention Bungie actually let you save some of your games on their own servers back then, and you could do a total replay of the game from any vantage point. Imagine what amazing maps the community could make, and game types within them. I remember back in the days of the C-64, one of my favourite games was Loderunner by Broderbund Games. It was not particularly graphically amazing or anything, even by the standards of the time, but what it did have was a comprehensive level editor that you could then play, which brought endless replayable opportunities: it was difficult to get bored of being able to play levels you designed yourself. Community-submitted maps, levels, etc. get voted on, and Bungie curate the best ones, and maybe some of them become part of the official rotation of maps. Or let players create entire new patrols, adventures, quests, bounties, even dungeons and raids. Then you'd _never_ hear the Destiny community complain about 'lack of content'. Trust the community to allow us the tools to entertain ourselves, rather than demanded to be entertained by powers that be at Bungie. Minecraft-like using Destiny-verse assets, what's not to like?

                    • 76%? Count on d3 being more of a combination of d1 and d2 rather than a new game......smh
did I just say a combination of different versions of the same game?
• I always thought the infinite forest was criminally underused, like yeah Vault of Glass would make so much sense to have since it was in the trailer for the dlc. But what about a mode where you break into simulations of past events and sabotage them to "break the simulation" (such as a simulated Titan (the location) from the red war where you can kill a lightless Zavala to break it)

                    • Its there , it is supposed to let players travel in time, its not used - go for it - good idea - get some good weapons in there and let people choose to go into those raids - I think many people would go back and new D2 players would have a good time also.

                      • Why spend resources on building old raids when they can build new ones? It’s not like they can copy and paste the raids from the first game to the second. It takes weeks to move over a weapon or armor piece so it’ll take them months for a raid

                        • Yeah, bringing them back won't be any challenge, since the new abilities and weapons we have will trivialize them. But it would be nice to bring 1k Voices into Wrath for funsies.

                        • Why would they waste development time for someone that’s readily available already? Why not new raids and new content since that’s a big complaint towards this game. It would be cool sure but man would it be a waste
