Not hyperbole. Five years of Bungie giving us power and then taking it away. No other loot game dev does this. Sad how often I find myself having to say that. Five years of Bungie making the same mistakes over and over again and failing to learn from them.

  • Just my opinion, but I would argue Bungie actually does loot better than ANY other similar game. Though I have to ask, why still play the game/ be on the forums debating Bungies decisions, if you don't like it? Aren't there a ton of other looter shooters that you can play?

  •
Just my opinion, but I would argue Bungie actually does loot better than ANY other similar game.
Then I respectfully submit that you need to broaden your horizons with respect to loot-games. Because I can think of a laundry list of games that do---or have done---loot better than Destiny. As a shooter game, Destiny is a top-shelf PVE experience. But as a loot game, this game has at BEST been average....and at various times been simply terrible. ....and right now its heading back towards terrible.
Though I have to ask, why still play the game/ be on the forums debating Bungies decisions, if you don't like it? Aren't there a ton of other looter shooters that you can play?
1. You are assuming that I'm NOT playing them. You would be incorrect. 2. You assume that I have given up on this game, and no longer care what happens to it. You would also be incorrect. There a concept in sports (particularly golf) its called "Getting out of your own way." In sports it refers to getting out of your HEAD...and setting aside all the thoughts, worries, and doubts that interfere with your ability to play. So that you can play your best. Destiny has some very basic---and tragically simple---problems that it needs to solve. Unfortunately BUNGIE itself is the source of those problems, and this game is struggling because Bungie can't manage to get out of their own way and stop self-sabotaging. But the only way to try to get someone to stop doing that is to keep pointing it out....and hope that they (eventually) connect the dots. Connect them so that they finally realize----like an addict----that the world isn't the source of their problems. Their own actions and choices are the source of those probleme. Bungie is fighting their own customers.....and fighting the established brand identity of their own (and only) product. Which NEVER ends well for the companies that do such things.

  • I'm not assuming any of that lol. I'm just asking why spend time on this game in particular, when you don't like the game/developer/decisions? I just personally don't spend time thinking about games that I don't play, or don't like. I'm just asking why people do. Call it morbid curiosity lol.

  • Missed the point again. You question is based on a number of faulty assumptions....and then when I point them you, you deny that you're making them. But the fact is----without those assumptions----the questions wouldn't have even occured to you to ask.

  • They do though. This forum is filled with people, if you check their profiles, they don't even play destiny, or haven't in months/years. Not all of them, but most. I don't assume to know why they spend their time whining about a game they don't play. Hence the question.
They do though. This forum is filled with people, if you check their profiles, they don't even play destiny, or haven't in months/years. Not all of them, but most
I broke up with a woman that I dated for almost a year....and remained good friends with her for over 10 years after that. Just because I decided that I couldn't LIVE with parts of her personality as significant other...doesn't mean that I stopped caring about her or what happened to her. When my sister in-law gave birth to my nephew, three years ago want to know---out of all my friends----who was the only person who went out and bought gifts for him? Her. That moment showed who she really is. It was all the OTHER things she did that protect that part of herself from being hurt, that I couldn't deal with. So I backed away to a safe distance (for me) from them. But that core of her personality that she tried to hide....was more than worth keeping her as a friend. Destiny is a lot like my friend. It does a shit-ton of irritating things that frustrate you, push you away....and make caring about it a painful experience at times. So it forces people---at times---to back away from the craziness in order to protect themselves. But they don't stop caring about the game, and what happens to it. They also are reluctant to give up the hope that it can turn things around.
