If you’re mad about that weapon getting nerfed you’re not really a fan of the Crucible. They had no choice. It was either pry them out of your hands or watch you guys destroy the game with them.

 • I think matchmaking is a far bigger issue than any weapon. Pretty much every time something like this gets adjusted, I think to myself, "is that really what is making the game less fun for me"? And the funny thing is, there are so many off meta weapons that do just fine.

 • It won't change anything. Iron banner is sbmm and ur still complaining. They nerfed Nova warp bc of whiners and suddenly spectral blades was the reason y'all weren't having fun. Nerf lunas/nf and last word/bygones/180s/jotunn will suddenly become OP. It's a pattern of nerfs that never ends. The only solution to you having no fun is to practice and get better bc the bottom 20% will always do poorly no matter what the meta is. If u refuse to admit that part of the problem is you then you will never evolve as a player and no amount of sbmm or nerfs will change that.

 • No one here is complaining about the nerf, dumbass, I actually think it was a bad idea as does the OP. Or, in terms you can understand: We agree with you.

 • I was referring to your pushing sbmm but using nerfs as an example of the ineffectiveness of sbmm. Read man read.

 • The matchmaking in IB is far superior to anything else in the game. And IMO a big part of why people get upset about things like Luna and NF boil down to how shitty that system is in quickplay. The gap between players in most IB matches is smaller, so people are far less concerned with what they lost to. When the top two have 30+ in normal quickplay, and the bottom two have less than 10, THAT's when people complain about how Luna or NF are easy mode. I, personally don't believe it is the guns, even when they are OP, why? Because there is always a way to counter a gun. Getting killed constantly off spawn or by tryhards? That doesn't give people the chance to get better at the same pace as it was before. Yes, it is all about getting better over time, but many people are just giving up because of how -blam!-ed the system has been for most of D2.

 • Eh almost every iron banner match I've played has been a blowout one way or the other. I kinda see ur point about the kill disparity but balancing is done by team not by player. They rank players 1-12 by their skill metrics and then split them 1,4,6,8,10,12 and 2,3,5,7,9,11. They base matchmaking success on win/loss rate not k/d. In reality it's almost impossible to determine individual skill unless it's averaged over a group. Sbmm is a pipe dream bc there are not enough players at the ends of the skill bell curve so bad players still get stomped and good players will still stomp.

 •
I think matchmaking is a far bigger issue than any weapon.
Agreed. Pinnacle weapons are the insult to the average player. The lack of SBMM in Quickplay is the injury.
And the funny thing is, there are so many off meta weapons that do just fine.
When you're a skilled player? Sure. But if you're a player who is already going up against someone significantly better than you are because of the lack of skill-matching.....all those off-meta weapons are going to do is get you killed FASTER. ...and when the game puts OP weapons in the hands of the game's best players....and THEN serves you up to them with nothing that can actually compete against those weapons. (Never mind the skill advantage of the HOLDING IT?) It quickly becomes an exercise in futility. I quit because I got tired of getting stomped by clan teams that either rolled around the map in a mob....or camped in a corner and team shot anything that moved....on one hand........ .....getting outgunned by Luna's Howls and Redrix's Claymores/Broadswords on the other..... ...and the -blam!-ing IRON BANNER lockout mechanic in the middle causing every fourth or fifth Iron Banner match to be a shitstomp and a mercy. It wasn't fun....and I got tired of the game showing such a disregard for whether or not I was having fun playing it.

 • The bullshit lockout mechanic is the only thing I don't like about IB. Foot on zone with 2 seconds left is a contested zone, a team should have to CONTROL all three zones to get the lockout. I guess I just see so many things that get me, I don't pay much attention to the matches where SweatyDogXXooXX gets 40 kills with a Luna. With things like Jotun in the game, I am not sure how people are complaining about any "meta" weapon. But that is just me I guess. Now keep in mind, i SUCK at PvP, but when IB rolls around I get my positive K/D just like the old days, so I know that when I am matched by whatever voodoo that event uses, that getting waxed is 100% on me. And I think that is why I don't mind the OP weapons. They don't affect me enough in a fair fight to matter. I have great rolls on all of the non pinnacle, good for PvP weapons, so I can use just about any weapon type and compete with good matchmaking. That said. I don't think I would care about nerfs one way or another if Bungie wasn't 1000% incompetent at it.

 • 1. I think Lockout is one of the dumbest ideas Bungie's Crucible team has ever come up with. 2. That Iron Banner "voodoo" is just skill-based match making. Its the only part of the Crucible that still uses it.

 •
1. I think Lockout is one of the dumbest ideas Bungie's Crucible team has ever come up with.
I would love it if you had to actually be holding the zones. That would make it difficult to pull off, but it would also make the advantage all that much more meaningful. Hell, if that was how it worked I would even up the duration, but as a counter, I would give the team being locked out a bonus for wiping the team with the advantage. There are a lot of ways this could be fun. It just so happens that the way Bungie implemented it is the worst possible idea LOL

 • i -just got- my Luna's this season, and I love using it: I'm kind of glad it's getting changed. I have take on 3v1 and lived with 3 kills. I have beaten supers, heavy, single-shot grenade launchers, shotgun apes, etc, all by virtue of having that super strong third shot. It's fantastically fun, and makes you feel like a really strong front-line gunner. And the reason is that it's to good for nothing more than just using it as normal. I said it before I got the gun, and I'll say it now that I have, use, and really like it: it's too strong for no extra requirements. Hopefully the changes make them great, but not the only logical choice out there.
