Watch this video by True Vanguard. He points out that the playerbase in Quickplay is dying because of 6 stack teams running Dust Rock Blues, NF/Luna's and Ward Cliff Coils.

PC is fine. But will have less diversity after the nerfs.
-
Well that's part of the problem. Trying to design the game around what streamers say combined with what people that don't even play Crucible say. So we end up with pinnacle weapons that eventually get nerfed (have to point out that he was probably fine with stomping people with those weapons when they first came out and other people hadn't gotten them yet) and insane supers like nova warp and spectral blades for the people that aren't very good. There's always going to be a meta, and yes this one was getting stale. But at the same time the meta should always include some type of aiming weapon that's not OHK but can contend with OHK weapons if you play smart. There was more of a skill gap to LH/NF than to shotguns or Telesto or shoulder charge or handheld supernova or spectral blades or pre-nerf nova warp.

Consider the answer is then nerfing dust rock and wardcliff, not the promised reward for an achievement. Dust Rock nor wardcliff require NO skill or time sink to obtain, they're random drops. Who cares if they're nerfed? But this is taking a shit on those who were dedicated and worked for a specific weapon. Sure quickplay might be better but who'll grind something out in comp now?
-
I hear you in that the pinnacle weapons took time and effort, for real. But it was never a contract that the weapons had to remain the same throughout the whole D2 life-cycle. Bungie has always done this to top tier weapons. It is their philosophy. Players know this. Plus this idea of toning down the TTK of the Lunas/NF has been thrown around for months. It is not like this is out of the blue. I think the vitriol is out of place. Plus, I think we are missing the point in comp. If the only reason to play is a weapon, Bungie messed that up. Comp should be an uber challenging playlist and grinding rank should be it's own reward.

I'm sure you consider this a reasoned response... but clearly you do not appreciate the time and effort it took for someone who sucks at pvp. Nor are you considering the nerf is misplaced if Dustrock and wardliff are part of the issue. There was no vitriol in my post there friend, just a statement of my opinion. That it has been thrown around for months but that has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation, we're addressing what is being presented. Clearly we can agree that bungie messed up but our opinion differs on what exactly that is. For me and others like me, we'll vote with our feet and our funds. My time has been taken for granted.

It will be much better when 6 stacks switch to Ace of Spades, Wishbringer, and Wardcliff. Fix the matchmaking instead and weigh in whether a player has LH/NF unlocked as part of the calculation. Groups of dedicated players will always optimize and wreck casual randoms. The fix isn't in the weapons available, the fix is in matchmaking.

How they gonna use ace and cool at the same time. You can only equip one.
-
You can switch guns at any time during a match. About to grab heavy? Swap off Ace, swap on Coil. It's one mouse-click on DIM.

-
Oh no. So I have to take 5 seconds and do it via in-game menus? That entirely discredits my point.
-
6 stacks arent as common as everyone says they are, i run into one about once every 10 or so games.
-
Still, fewer and fewer people are playing Quickplay.
-
No offense but tv has been pretty irrelevant in d2. He is obviously allowed to voice his opinions but hes not even in the top 3 destiny steamers currently.
-
That kids a dipshit. I know he plays console but would it hurt to say the obvious in the videos and stress this is not remotely a problem on pc?
-
He was really big in d1 but that hasnt translated well into d2 unfortunately
-
Relevancy aside, do you disagree that Quickplay is dying or do you think it is in a healthy place right now.
-
Id say the whole game is dying. Qp aside what new things has pvp gotten to keep casuals entertained? This meta while boring as hell isnt the issue. no new maps since September and no new modes as well and people are surprised?
-
Yes, Destiny has been dying for 5 years.
