It's a 0.13s nerf to time to kill in exchange for more damage per bullet and greater range.
I can understand the change to Mag howl damage, but changing to a 150?
Can you explain this?
How does the change to Mag howl damage make any sense?
That 3rd Headshot would kill regardless on a 150.
That mag howl change only makes the gun worse in pve. And offers nothing in the pvp arena

Mag Howl change will give it some leniency in PvP if you get a body shot instead of crit on your third shot. Also, I don’t think you’ll be able to switch targets and get the cheeky two tap anymore
Mag Howl change will give it some leniency in PvP if you get a body shot instead of crit on your third shot.
That's what it does now..... They're removing the ability for bonus Headshot damage.
Also, I don’t think you’ll be able to switch targets and get the cheeky two tap anymore
Why remove that though? Its not like spare rations and service revolver don't have the ability with proper rolls to 2 and 3 tap respectively.
-
SRs TTK is situational as it’s AFTER a kill, not a fair comparison.
-
Edited by draycole: 4/25/2019 11:34:20 PMIt's the perfect comparison Lunas post nerf 2 tap capability would also be situational. . Otherwise they kill in the same time
-
Edited by yodas_buddy: 4/26/2019 8:59:13 AMThere is no 2 tap post nerf, I’m pretty sure that’s part of the notes from what I remeber... Also what I was referring to was the 180 3 tap, which wasn’t situational as it was first encounter. I agree the 180 2 tap was situation though, along ebing being MEGA op.
-
There's not situational 2 tap from post nerf luna's. But situational 2 taps from guns like spare rations Or situational 3 taps from service revolver will still be present. Why have 1 and not the other?
-
Yeah, but now it’s becoming a 150, so 3 crits kill either way. And those two guns require more set up than just switching targets to achieve a two tap I’m willing to see how these changes play out. I think it will still be one of the best HCs as far as Console goes, but won’t be the non option it is now
-
Yeah it'll definitely be at the top still. I just don't like the change to magnificent howl.
-
I definitely feel for the people who liked it in PvE. Also, they stickied a comment to the TWAB post saying that avoiding the two tap was the reason for the change. Still interested to play around with it, and curious what HCs will come next season
-
. Still interested to play around with it, and curious what HCs will come next season
Nothing that can compete with luna's lol It'll still have the best available time to kill from a neutral state on a hand canon. Still won't have much recoil. And other hand canons will still have bloom to deal with.
-
It will two head one body unlike every 150. It literally says it right there in the TWAB.
-
No no. Only thorn can do that. And the resilience needs to be lower than a certain value.
-
AFTER the changes it will. Read the TWAB.
-
What? I know? Oh, I think I might've misread your comment. I thought you said like every other 150. My bad.
-
All good man
-
Thorn does the same thing with the added bonus of being able to buff the poison after a kill
-
Ok..... Can you explain the relevance of that to why they're removing Headshot bonus damage?
-
Three headshots from a 150 will kill regardless, after the nerf LH & NF will have be more forgiving if you miss your last shot and get a body. It’ll still be good, but now it won’t reward good players with bonus damage like it currently does.
-
Which to me serves no purpose other than to prevent extra damage to supers And their effectiveness in pve.
-
Edited by Cohen: 4/25/2019 10:45:44 PMAre you kidding me? It currently three-taps as a 180 RPM, no other primaries can compete with them. They reward a good player with bonus damage, the rich get richer. It is not fair or good for the games META.
-
We're talking about post nerf luna's here. If 150 luna's will kill in 3 headshots regardless of bonus damage. Why remove the bonus damage?
-
Or you can just, you know, get two headshots and then purposefully aim for the body to get the kill.
-
That's what the perk does now. If it's post nerf variant will do the same thing. Why nerf it at all?
-
Oh boy, really? They’re currently a 180 RPM, they should only be able to kill with four headshots but with Mag Howl they can three-tap regardless of where they hit their third shot, head or body. They change the games TTK by performing outside of their intended archetype. Like, imagine using a rapid fire Scout but have it hit like a high impact Scout...it would be broken. Changing them to a 150 RPM means that they will be able to three tap regardless without the perk meaning they won’t change the TTK because the third shot would’ve killed them if it was a headshot, currently 150’s will need two head and two body, LH & NF will need two head and one body making them more forgiving without allowing them to perform outside of their archetype.

Edited by draycole: 4/25/2019 11:37:49 PMI haven't disagreed with anything you've said. But you seem to be skirting around my question of Why nerf the 150rpm luna's bonus Headshot damage?
