Badly designed games that substitute aimless, tedious, repetitive busywork for genuinely engaging and challenging content are not fun. It’s that simple. I don’t even think Forsaken era Destiny is a particularly “hardcore” game, just a boring and badly designed one.
In fact, it seems m to me that you’re so invested in bring Online Hardcore Man And Scourge Of “Casuals” that you’re giving Bungie a pass on putting out a deeply sub par product. But hey, if it makes you happy ...
Forsaken and Warmind were the best dlcs for the game so far. The faster casuals die off the better. The best way to do this is to bring on a good hardcore game and attract prospective hardcore players to start playing the game. They would replace the casual plague.

Warmind era was mostly good, Forsaken era is fundamentally bad. Honestly, this “casuals” stuff is neither here nor there. Never mind who else likes or dislikes the game, the question is do you find the current iteration of Destiny enjoyable to play? Like, really? Or are you just desperately searching for the next dopamine hit from the next underwhelming drop? Interesting take tho, “it is actually good that Bungie this game as inaccessible and unenjoyable as possible because ‘casuals’” apparently.

Current state of the game is bad. I thoroughly enjoyed Warmind and Forsaken though. Faster casuals leave the better, the faster Bungie works on good hardcore content the better.
