Hey all, Thank you for your feedback on Enhancement Cores and infusion. I will continue to pass this along to the team. The goal of this currency is to give players meaningful decisions in carrying forward their gear, and also fully masterworking it. At this time, there are no plans to remove Enhancement Cores from infusion, but I can check with the team to see if there are plans for further tuning of acquisition paths or costs. As it stands, here are the current sources of this currency: • Spider Wanted Bounties • Direct Purchase from The Spider • Scrapper Bounties • Dismantling Legendary Items at specific Masterwork tiers • Reaching the Legend rank in Crucible Valor • Completing the Clan Weekly Challenge after reaching Rank 4
• Spider Wanted Bounties
that's max 15 a week if you have 3 characters; not to mention having to farm a dead location because you pointlessly capped ghost fragments
• Direct Purchase from The Spider
yeah, for at best 2 a day otherwise you'll run out of legendary shards in minutes
• Scrapper Bounties
IF they drop - and if they drop in an effcient matter - its one thing to have to maybe loot a lost sector - its another to have to jump into gambit and kill x amount of enemies using ymethod - how is that considered equally weighted?
• Dismantling Legendary Items at specific Masterwork tiers
once again, IF they drop for you - RNG shouldnt be considered a "reliable source"
• Reaching the Legend rank in Crucible Valor
amount earned here not worth the grind
• Completing the Clan Weekly Challenge after reaching Rank 4
another time-gated source, as you throttle how much a clan can grow per week, so that means we need at least 3 more weeks before this is even an option. before i get flamed; i have a healthy stack of shards - i just understand where people are coming from; they should have never been added to infusion costs

  • Spider bounties: still a decent amount of cores for one or two sets of gear (plenty for average players). Buying: 2 PER DAY. Scrapper Bounties: GUARANTEE DROP NOW. Dismantling: AT A CERTAIN TIER GUARANTEES (while, this could still use some fine tuning, you can still get 2-3 per hour depending on what activity you're doing. Legend rank: okay, definitely not worth the grind, but given the amount of legendary drops leading to legend, it may be worth if they increase drops for higher tier armor.

  • Finally someone who isn’t at a pain point for Enhancement Cores yet still understands the pain of us common folk. Too many in this community have the “well if it doesn’t effect me” mentally. Thanks dude.

  • np man, the system is dumb. I think what made it worse for me, was when they just rebranded "masterwork cores" - "enhancement cores" so we couldn't use our semantics argument. Honest slap in the face and disregard for player feedback.

  • "Hey guys wanna run this NF or some Gambit?" "Nah man I have to grind these 2 scrapped bounties, shop at spider, sell back simulation seeds, dismantle gear so I can infuse my loadout I ALREADY grinded for." Yup sounds like an END GAME activity and totally NOT mid-game crap we did MONTHS ago. WTF

  •
The goal of this currency is to give players meaningful decisions in carrying forward their gear...
except they also cap currency. That's like saving up your weekly paycheque and then they tell you you have to spend your money ASAP otherwise you're working for free cus they won't pay you more lol

  • There's nothing meaningful about infusion. It's a leveling mechanic that shouldn't even be this much of a problem that is complained about hourly by some of even your most devoted fans.

  • The priority should be "letting players have the gear, look and playstyle they WANT", not forcing people to fall in line with preordained metas that have been ruining Destiny since D1's launch. If you people are so damn adamant about this, then perhaps it's time you lot started implementing systems like, oh I dunno: Armor + Weapon Transmog Upgrading All Year One Gear to Year Two (NOT JUST THE BLUES) Giving Banshee A Perk Reroll Function Increased Mod Drop Rate And perhaps stop giving us these excuses about "meaningful decisions" when you're doing anything BUT giving us meaningful decisions. I want to play the game my way, just like everyone else. Let us do that.

  •
Upgrading All Year One Gear to Year Two (NOT JUST THE BLUES)
hell, they could solve this buy just making all the y1 armor + collection "ornament" and implement transmog like you said. Add 2 tiers to pulling weapons; x amount for pulling a weapon stock, y amount (more expensive) to pull for a random roll.

  • The team is wrong. It hinders meaningful choices. When I am max light gear drops are 20 points lower. Cores being difficult to come by means I probably won’t infuse it and try it. So there you have it, it’s a bad idea badly executed and it is pissing off the majority of players.

  • Can you please stop calling it "meaningful" and call it what it actually is -- throttling progression.

  •
Can you please stop calling it "meaningful" and call it what it actually is -- throttling progression.
Bump - they could even tweak the system and stop ignoring players. Renaming the system was the dumbest thing ever. Weapons should be infuse ready in the same class and only infusing legendaries into exotic classes should it cost cores. #Masterworkcores=masterworkcores

  • This is so frustrating. At least hire someone who can help you think through “meaningful choices.” Infusing armor so that you don’t look like a trash can isn’t meaningful choice. It’s really bad game design. It’s really bad. Nobody supports this. There are only 2 camps: camp “I hate it” and camp “meh, I don’t care but I like to be a tough guy on forums and argue.” Here’s a solution: just remove cores from infusion. Only use enhancement cores to masterwork. And change the name back to masterwork core because “enhancement core” is a meme. It was an embarrassing debacle. “Oh yeah, we just forgot to change the name...”

  • Why does the decision to infuse or upgrade have to be an important decision? Why does Bungie care what or why we’re infusing things? I just can’t understand this. The bounties to get cores are so time consuming and boring. Why do I want to sit around for upwards of 15 minutes waiting for a target to show up and then maybe not even get a shot at him as some randoms have killed him before I get there. But if I do get the bounty done I’m rewarded with one whole core. Such a waste of playing time.

Yup! Couldn’t agree more. This should tell you Bungie does not respect the Player’s time. As SNTR says, “If you can’t respect the Player’s time, don’t expect the Player’s time.” I’m one of the many who moved on to Anthem cause they don’t respect my time. So I won’t give them my time.

  • It's not an important decision. Nothing in this game should be an important decision. It's a -blam!-ING game!

  •
Why does the decision to infuse or upgrade have to be an important decision?
Because Bungie's afraid that there is not enough loot in the game to keep us playing via chasing loot. So they're trying to keep us playing by getting us to grind for item level while they WITHHOLD the game's loot from us (for all practical purposes) until we reach max level.

It’s such a limited system in its conceptions and mentality.

  • That's the issue. You don't need to do those bounties at all. Simply playing the game nets you enough cores with little to no effort.
