Stop telling us not to infuse in the forum

If you are one of the jack wagons out there saying "derp just don't infuse until you reach max light derp" you are just not getting it. That isn't a solution or a fun way to play. It is the equivalent of shrugging at a stupid idea and saying "oh well what can ya do?" Also, just as dumb is the "infusion cores are easy to get" No, they aren't. Getting cores on a regular basis is multi-step torture: Do dumb activities on a lonely planet for ghosts. Get a dumb bounty and sit on a planet doing nothing but watching for an HVT to pop up. Hope to get a shot at at it. The bounties should be obtainable with planetary materials or glimmer. And the bounties should be in game activities or events.

  • Hey all, Thank you for your feedback on Enhancement Cores and infusion. I will continue to pass this along to the team. The goal of this currency is to give players meaningful decisions in carrying forward their gear, and also fully masterworking it. At this time, there are no plans to remove Enhancement Cores from infusion, but I can check with the team to see if there are plans for further tuning of acquisition paths or costs. As it stands, here are the current sources of this currency: • Spider Wanted Bounties • Direct Purchase from The Spider • Scrapper Bounties • Dismantling Legendary Items at specific Masterwork tiers • Reaching the Legend rank in Crucible Valor • Completing the Clan Weekly Challenge after reaching Rank 4

    • I only try to infuse copies of weapons so I only expend glimmer and save cores exclusively for Masterworking gear. It might take a bit longer to get favorite gear up to level but it's the best option if you want to Masterwork gear that you've found.

we keep telling you because you just don't get it. you don't even need to equip the higher level gear unless the activity calls for it. *that's* when you infuse your higher level gear into your loadouts. or when it's a dupe piece for a loadout you like, then infusion will only cost you 5K glimmer. until then you leave them in inventory or vault. there are *2* activities - Prime and 100k/challenge NF that you even need anything over 650 for right now, FFS. you'd think you'd understand this as - since launch - D2 loot drop levels have been calculated from owned, not equipped gear, and the recommended power level for the activities are listed right in the director. and bungie's repeatedly said since Season 4 that overleveling advantages cap at only 50 above recommended/combatant level. but nope. y'all still thick as bricks. can't fix stupid. keep wasting those cores, potatoes. gg P.S.: cores are easy to get; look at your stack of finest matterweaves, start using them in NFs

    • Half my gear has sat at 650 from last season. It won’t get updated fast cores are to precious.

Hit max power then infuse . This lets you try new gun and armor builds . And after all it’s a shooter not a runway fashion show . And yes cores are easy to get just from normal play .

Since last week, I've obtained over 70 cores from casual play going after powerful gear. A couple of raids. Nothing else. I've used a few to infuse my way to a 670 average. After doing it, I realised I'm in no rush. Other than T3 Reckoning, the level up is pointless at the moment. Once this season is up and Opulence introduces a new raid, I'll make sure to have all my characters ready. Until then? What's the rush? You don't need 700 for existing raids. Don't really need it for Nightfall (unless you're going for high score improvements). Don't need it for Crucible or Gambit. So I'm just curious why people are making such a big deal out of it.

      • So we learned that there are two kinds of people: Those who play the game as intended and understand how it works and have no problems with Cores, and there are those that don't do such who have a problem with cores and start crying on the forums.

People aren't telling you not to infuse, they're telling you to think before you do it. For example: If you have a Bygones that's 640, and you get a new Bygones that's 665, don't infuse that new Bygones into your 630 Crimson. You can avoid wasting cores if you just think before you infuse. That's supposed to be the point of expensive infusion. It's not to restrict loadouts, it's to force players to stop blindly infusing whenever they get something higher. P.S. There are tons of other shortcuts to infusion that allow you to have enough cores. The one mentioned is not the only one.

          • You people are still missing the point. It IS NOT FUN. This is a game, correct? Played to have fun, also correct? Cores for infusion make this game more of a tedious chore than it already is.

              • Don’t infuse, Chill and listen. There’s no new raid, nightfalls are still low light level, strikes are a walk in the park, there is no rush to max light just take it slow and focus on having fun and saving a random piece of gear in each slot based on level until you are max.

                • It's not just that they're used for infusion, if that was all I'd be more OK with it, but you also need like 15 of them to fully masterwork a weapon and you need them to masterwork armor. I honestly don't have a single piece of fully masterworked armor and only have 2 fully masterworked weapons because the cost to do so is ridiculous. If cores are so scarce they shouldn't be used for 2 very important things, infusion and masterworking.

                  • Sure you could wait to infuse OR you could hope a higher version of the weapon you wanna infuse comes along & then infuse, that's what I do and it works mostly

                    • I love the "Just don't infuse" argument. You need to do raids to get max Light, you need to be ready for said raids with your best gear and weapons, not random purples with terribad rolls or blues. The simply excuse is "don't infuse till max" when the real question is, how do you even expect to get max if you can't get invited to raids. Blindly farming Powerful Gear is not fun and engaging, sorry not sorry. Also, people like to use certain guns, I should not have to drop my Curated Breakneck or Outlaw Rampage Duke because I got a Scout Rifle with Hip-Fire Grip that is 2 Light higher than what I am currently using. inb4 "That's when you would infuse" You realize that is still expensive and unrealistic as well, correct?

When you pull your head out of your a$$ and decide to live on your own(move out of your mom’s basement) and wear the adult pants. When the bills come in, the money goes out to the necessities first. The wise will save whatever is leftover and use it only when needed and beneficial. The smart ones look at things for the long term goal in mind. The idiots whine and cry when they don’t have enough to get by from not being pro-active about it.

                      • Gave up on the spider bounties moons ago. To boring...... The system forced you to use the same gear or wait till you get to max light to simply infuse the same gear. Only favourite stuff gets master worked or updated due to cores / materials and the grind needed to maintain stuff. They should make all smg’s infuse into all smg’s ect without cores. Only cross infusing stuff or infusing legendaries into exotics should cost costs. Weapons into different class weapons should cost legendary shards NOT CORES

                      • So what's the root to a 'happy medium'?.. too many too soon, not enough too late... I think that if everyone was better at 'the math'; this wouldn't be too much of an issue. But holding point-of-origin-power accountable, is an inherent right. So let's start with Bungie's lack of supplying optimum resources, to start with. Is their model reproducible and consistent? Oh yes it is. They've proven from the beginning, that starting out poorly, making massive strides with TTK coding, then wildly swinging to the opposite again with the D2 release, that 'excluding the middle' is a core ethic in their metrics. Don't be surprised if the never break out of this pattern.
