I played the VIP Demo on Xbox and according to their notes, this was a build from 6 weeks ago, which will be less than 9 weeks from what they release in late February. That is not much time at all to fix all the issues I encountered.
Besides the network issues, there were numerous bug and things that simply did not work correctly. I had tonnes of issue with the automatic camera positioning when I was in tight spaces, like having your back against a rock wall and you had no idea where you were aiming or how to even move. The Colossus javelin simply can not jump or even hover and to jump up to a 10 foot platform means you have to double tap A and then click the left stick to launch the fly mode - which invariably either overshoots the target completely or smashes you into a wall. And if your suit is damaged where you can't move anymore, you have to wait for someone to revive you or they all die before you can do anything. And the only way to get armour health back (or ammo) is to kill something, you can't just retreat to a safe space, wait for your health / armour to regenerate and then attack again.
I did like the Open World (although the demo would not let me explore all of it before tossing me back to the main area), the Javelin customization options were extensive, the crafting system might be fun (but I didn't collect enough stuff to try it), the little bit of story / quest line I saw looked interesting and the Range Javelin suit (which actually can hover) was fairly fun to fly - until it over heated and you had to find water to fast cool down before flying again.
I really wished it was better because the way Destiny 2 is now is basically a year of being drip fed mediocre content for $50 CDN while Bungie sorts itself out. Most of my Clan mates have moved on and several have said they are not coming back.

The full game build has already had thousands of bug fixes and many quality of life features added that wont make it into this weekends demo build but the demo build has recieved bug and performance issue fixes this week. They fixed the 95% loading screen bug so that alone should make for a better experience. Give it another try tomorrow.
