Reason you want sbmm. Is because you don't wanna play better players.

 • Getting pub stomped by top teir players is not going to improve the skill of people lesser skilled than them. That's like saying a high school football team will get better only if they play an NFL team. It's completely wrong.

 • Weird back in d2 sbmm my friend was a 0.8 after playing with me and playing better players he improved. Now he is a 1.45kd.

 • Umm isn't that what the "elite" try to avoid. Sweaty opponents like them or even sweatier?

 • Well that's why people want sbmm. Its to avoid playing better players. Instead of attempting to get better they want game devs to give them false sense of accomplishment by manipulating games so you get a 50/50 win rate. I play sweaty people all the time. Sure I don't play 2.5kds every game but I'm not gonna sit in matching to find 11 people with 2.5kds. So why should I suffer and be forced to wait in matchmaking than actually playing the game. Yes let's punish good players so that bad players can get a false sense of skill. Sbmm doesn't make you better because when your kd increases you play better players than yourself and you go back down.

 • Weaker players want to avoid players better than themselves - true. Your argument is to avoid playing players as good as you - also true. So tell me... which argument seems fairer to you? Anxiously awaiting the verbal gymnastics that are about to take place...

 • Quickplay should be connection based it's suppose to be a quick game. I'd assume 400k+ people that play everyday and don't cry to bungie to cater to them would also agree.

 • Deftly avoided the argument. As expected.

 • What's the definition of quick?

 • How fast tryhards go full meta (Not Forgotten, Dustrock, Wardcliff) and pub stomp. And really, do stay on the point you made. You said players just don’t want to face people better than themselves. The onus here is on the lower players for not wanting to be constantly matched against players such as yourself (as you see it). You are effectively shaming them for wanting to face players on their own level while hypocritically arguing you should be faced with lower talent because... you don’t want to play upper tier players either. Your argument is failed from the start. Badass players don’t look for the weakest players to feed on. Just sayin’.

 • So what's the definition of quick.

 • Once again, “quick” is the time it took for you to resort to cliche player shaming to mask your fear of playing guardians on your own level.

 •
Yes let's punish good players so that bad players can get a false sense of skill.
Yea, instead, let's punish bad players so that good players can get a false sense of skill. So far, all you've provided to the conversation is hypocrisy and a failure to realise that there's more than one kind of person to consider other than yourself. If good players were actually good, they'd be more content with pulling a 1.15 KD over people equally matched to them than a 3.0 over children holding their controller upside down...

 • Nah, I'm good. One way that most 'bad' players differ from 'good' players, is that they typically don't actually mind losing. They just don't like constantly being beat down, who does?

 • Thats their choice. From my point of view, quickplay is filled with beancans that any average player should be able to beat. If you cant win, you have three options. A) Back out of a sweaty match and start another where you can have fun B) Practice and git gud C) Go cry on the Destiny forums about the lack of sbmm Topic starter chose number C. Tell me, do you think he's gonna be a winner or a loser in life?

 • These are brave words considering the endless bitching from people with a false sense of skill at any hint of having to face an actually worthy opponent. IE, literally every Iron Banner. Should actually start to see more of those following Christmas, actually. Option A is basically every 'good' player's strategy as soon as they see an emblem they don't like (I guess you have to be really good at the game if you're picking matches that are easier for you, right?)

 • I mean some play for fun with weird loadouts, they dont wanna sweat every game and I respect that. Others play in a competitive way. Personally I am top 1% so i have a comp mindset in this game. But take fortnite.. I suck at fortnite. I get outplayed almost every game. Does that make me salty and cry that it needs skill based matchmaking? No. I play it for fun. If i wanna beat those sweaty kids then i would actively start working on acquiring the nescessary skills to beat them. Topicstarter is the kind of guy who would have everything handed to him on a silver platter, rather than show some character and work towards becoming better.

 • Thank you for proving your disconnect to the mid tier player. You know nothing.

 •
Thank you for proving your disconnect to the mid tier player. You know nothing.
You're not mid tier. Your kd is literally twice as low as the kd of an average fps player

 •
they dont wanna sweat every game and I respect that.
Do you though? Because many people don't have a choice.
I'm the opposite, I'm... *actually checks stats* Wow. I'm 'top 59%' (IE, bottom 41%...) I'm not a competitive player, I don't mind losing and have no desire to 'git gud'. Having that mindset should also give you an idea, but I also don't want anything handed to me just because I was there, or because I 'bought the game like everyone else' (damn, I hate it when people say that). But I do like to play for fun, just coming out with twice as many deaths as assists is not fun to me. I could always just walk off a cliff in Patrol and eat a bowl of cereal if I wanted to spend my night watching my ghost. Fact is that we all want to just have fun, spending half of the match dead isn't fun. But whenever Bungie implements a game mode built around skill consideration, the PvP tryhards come out and say that it's 'too sweaty' and demand change. I mean, go back and look at the purpose of Competitive. It's entire purpose was to be the SBMM playlist. People always said 'just have two playlists, one for each', so they did. But now the matchmaking is borked and people with a few hundred Glory are being matched with people with thousands. Meanwhile, QP, the CBMM playlist is an absolute stomping ground. There's simply nowhere for bad players to 'have fun and not sweat', but currently both playlists are favouring good players. Now watch next week when IB comes back (which actually has SBMM) and you'll see an absolute shitstorm about how it's sweaty and the matchmaking is broken and the usual crap we see every month. 'Good' players don't want a place for both of us, they want dominion over the entire Crucible. And the fact that they think fair matchmaking is 'unfair' or 'broken' only proves that. They feel like absolutely dominating is just a give-in, to us bad players, they're the ones who look entitled...
