Its time we say what we're all thinking, this game is made for streamers. Then when we complain about this, streamers get defensive and make up lies about their married friend of a friend who works a 24 hour job, has 30 kids and 50 grandkids and is already at 600. There was also no way for Bungie to keep any casual gamer engaged after a month to continue the same content grind, and this lack of engagement is what led to what we have now, which is that no one can play the Forge yet lmao. The content itself isnt the problem because we all expected this small burst of content, its the lack of engagement and incentive for normal players. They never even added simple events like Mayhem since Forsaken release, they never kept the content engaging bcs even the Halloween event was more of a grind than a fun little update. The murder mystery being timegated was also so weird and unnecessary, as a casual I both forgot and lost interest in doing it. So overall, I dont think its the content itself, its that bungie just dont know how to make the content they have engaging and interesting without feeling like you completed a week's worth of powerful reward challenges to only go from 570 to 571. If theyre going to keep the engram grind this awful, at least find ways to make old content engaging, since we're being forced to do it to even participate. RANNNNT

 • See now this is where personalities conflict. Some people do have hard working jobs but somehow still find the might to return home everyday and grind. What I thought is that those select few realize that the forge was too hard at their current level so they realized they’d do what they did the previous night, and they are still engaged because they’re not content drained and still have stuff to do. Then when they reach a good level they’ll try the forge again and beat it that time and then continue on. Bungie delivered on their promise saying it was end game content I guess

 • Well your doing it wrong. I was too then I read up and used strategies to level up. It is night and day diff. Just loaded up the new expansion and with in about an hr I had most all my stuff up around 605-608 because I researched what bounties to save and then cashed them all in and got many powerful rewards before even playing. I consider myself a casual but a smart one. I use a lot of methods that hardcore guys use to help me keep progressing.

 • And yet, that one fix the fact that the content isn’t engaging long-term. They need to ask themselves why the majority of the playerbase came into this update so low. Maybe I’m not doing the power level grind right, but that doesn’t fix the fact that when most of us log in to play we feel dried out immediately. They have a lot to work with in the game that they don’t use. The holiday event was grindy for no power level help. They have mayhem game mode rotting somewhere in a cage never to be seen again that could easily spice up a holiday event, an iron banner once in a blue moon. They could do a once a month exotic grind event where you can use 3 of coins for just one day out of the month on a Xur Saturday. They could easily give incentives without making the game too casual, they just don’t know how to get to this middle ground. Even when the game was too casual during vanilla D2 there was no engaging content or events. The whole point of eververse was to add more fun updates and they’ve only done something very few times since they added eververse 3 years ago. I’m not asking for it to be easier, I’m asking for it to be fun at least if there’s going to be a grind.

 • I can’t argue with any of that as I am struggling too. It took a lot of time to get all the powerful gear bounties and save them all till the new dlc dropped thinking it would bump me to about 620 but most of them were 2-3 increase and had several give me gear in the same slot so no increase. So after all the prep I ended up bumping to 608 but with crap weapons and armor with no good perks so not wanting to use all my cores to infuse until I’m about 646 I am stuck right back at having random mixed gear and underpowered weapons I like to use vs the powerful drops that are hand cannons or other weapons I don’t like. As for efficient leveling read up there’s plenty of guides and it helped me a ton. I was going up 3-4 levels a week and after researching I started jumping 7-9 a week. The order in which you do things makes a big difference depending on what your current gear levels are compared to your average level.

 • Casual players should be 600 by now. There are that many ways to get powerful gear to climb. Give it a few weeks, players will be breezing through the forge.

 • From what I heard the majority of people are below 580.

 • Don't know how if that's true.... It's been weeks.

 • From what I've been hearing is that many played then stopped after the grind started to wear them down. Then this DLC comes out and they come back. At least that's what I've been hearing from the grape vine. So take it with a grain of salt.

 • A lot of players may also be confused because BA is endgame content. It's not designed to be accessible right away, unless your at endgame. Players can't complain though. Can't expect to play endgame, when you aren't meeting the requirements. Especially if you left the game.

 • Makes sense. Just wish they had told us that the black armory was endgame when they were selling it with Forsaken. Seems like if you are paying 30 dollars in the beginning for something they would tell you that you won't be able to play it regularly like every other dlc.

 •
Casual players should be 600 by now. There are that many ways to get powerful gear to climb. Give it a few weeks, players will be breezing through the forge.
Point is, the 1st forge shouldn't be the power rating it is. Being rated at 615 for the 1st stage in a quest is absurd. This means in order to complete a quest, a player needs to grind milestones for as t least 2 weeks to get to the next quest stage. Then what is that quest stage going to be?630? There's another 2 weeks.

 • It's meant to be a grind. It's end game activities.

 • I would say there are prob guys at 620 already. They can’t cater to everyone. But they did just lower it so guess they compromised.

 • I just logged in. Theu lowered it from 615 to 610. Not much of a compromise. The 1st forge shouldn't have been higher than 605.

But they did just lower it so guess they compromised.
If they lowered it, that is probably why there are people at 620 already. I haven't seen on since it went live when it was still recommending 615. If that recommendation has in fact been made lower, that would explain why some people are now 620. They were able to complete the forge at a lower light than what was needed when I tried when it went live. I was 600 with 2 other 600 people and we couldn't complete it due to us needing to be 615.
