Don’t be so ignorant. Depression isn’t just being sad. It’s a serious mental illness and just because someone is successful or rich or whatever doesn’t mean they’re immune or less deserving of support.

  • I’m not being ignorant. He thinks he’s a failure when it’s literally crystal clear that he’s not. He has a huge ass youtube channel that everyone who aspires to be a youtuber would love to have.

I have a great job a house and need for nothing. Yet depression knocks on your door and you have little choice but to go along for the ride. Being "successful" means nothing if you feel as if your no good or not worth the things you have, even if you busy your ass daily for it.

  • Sorry you have to go through that, but some people have real problems and a rich as -blam!- youtuber can easily get help.

Do we know what has happened in the past? If not then we can't say for certain. And Sally there is no "help" as if you had a cold. I'm on 3 different medications, they help but I still have days where it kicks back in. There is no HELP for depression only ways to lessen the effects.

  • Most big youtubers are quite wealthy. If that’s what they do all day, playing a game for a living, then they gotta be. What you say is true about there not being a cure for depression, but help is help and he either takes it or lets depression consume him.

  • It's not clear to him, though. Depression causes irrationality and he just can't see that he's really not a failure.

Your success completely failing to make you happy is actually a pretty good sign of depression. Depression is generally a physical problem in the brain. It doesn't matter if you are the richest man in the world, have the easiest life, 10 wives that are all 10s...If the chemicals in your brain are -blam!-ed up that can mean depression.

  • I’m just saying, instead of crying about it online he should be seeking professional help. Nobody can help him but himself right now.

Well i havent watched the video but I imagine he probably is doing that. Theres nothing wrong with making a video to let his followers know what's going on though.

  • Coupled with that, he gets invited to pretty much every Bungie event or whatever. He’s far from a failure, idk how people get depressed when they’re literally living the best life that many people would want.

success /= happiness also, the most youtubers cannot handle the pressure, they think it's just upload videos and get famous which isnt true. It extremely stressful and you're never satisfied about anything you accomplish because you always feel like you can do better. It's like a carrot is being dangled in front of you, and once you have it there's even more hurdles to jump over, and you're hungry and tired and the carrot can only give you so much much energy. but you have to keep jumping over hurdles or else you'll lose everything.

  • So what you’re saying is youtubers make loads of money and they’re never satisified with it? Sounds an awful lot like greed and selfishness to me.

  • Not as much as you might think, twitch streamers make a lot more. also, the amount of money is irrelevant. Imagine doing a job you love but then it slowly becomes a job you hate but you're stuck with it until finally everything just collapses because you can't maintain that lifestyle. Lots of celebrities go down that path with drug overdosing and things of that self-destructive nature.
