Destiny 1 had 4 amazing and unique raids, that were not as much bound to mechanics. The raids all had multiple bosses. Destiny 2 yr1 raids only had one boss.
Destiny 2 has ledge grabbing,which was not a thing in d1.
Destiny 1 has a weapon progression system, destiny 2 doesnt.
Destiny 1 has fully customizable subclass trees. Destiny 2 doesnt.
Destiny 2 has masterworks. Destiny 1 doesnt.
Destiny 2 has lost sector, destiny 1 doesnt.
Destiny 1 has sparrow horns, destiny 2 doesnt
Destiny 1 has artefacts (perks that you can equip), destiny 2 doesnt.
Destiny 2 has adventures, destiny 1 doesnt
Destiny 1 has light machineguns (heavy), destiny 2 doesnt
Destiny 2 has grenade launchers and smgs. Destiny 1 doesnt.
Destiny 1 has prison of elders, destiny 2 has escalation protocol.
Destiny 1 exotics feel powerful, destiny 2 exotics feel less powerful
Destiny 1 has glowing shaders, destiny 2 doesnt
Destiny 1 has unique raid armor ornaments, destiny 2 doesnt
Destiny 2 looks slightly better with graphics
Destiny 2 has more public events with incentive to play.
Destiny 1 has a gamemode called rift in pvp, which was some kind of 'plant the bomb' gamemode
Destiny 1 has meaningful vendors with new storage every week, destiny 2 doesnt.
Destiny 2 has more bounties to do.
Destiny 1 used to have sparrow racing. Destiny 2 never did for now.
