tokens are the same as XP. it just lets you choose when you want to use it. but just complain about something you don't understand, its the way of the internet.

I understand fully what they are, and they are virtually worthless within a month of the new light levels going into affect. After that they are literally worthless unless you want to just collect things to dismantle them.

as i posted to a different reply, its not the tokens you dislike, its the rewards. there would be no different result if you just kept getting XP and ranking up NPC's. you'd still get the worthless items to just dismantle them. but just complain about the wrong thing, since this is the internet.

It's both the tokens AND the rewards. They aren't mutually exclusive. The fact that I have to FLY to each planet to even use them sucks ass. I spend 5 minutes loading into each planet, that's ~25 minutes sitting waiting for screens to load, just to turn in the tokens and get nothing of value. Then let's not even talk about picking up the world "resources" that do absolutely NOTHING but sit until you have enough to move the bar towards getting another engram for a CHANCE to get something you could use.

[quote]Then let's not even talk about picking up the world "resources" that do absolutely NOTHING but sit until you have enough to move the bar towards getting another engram for a CHANCE to get something you could use.[/quote] resources aren't tokens, you can choose to not pick them up, they aren't automatically given to you. so this isn't an issue either. notice how both of your scenarios mention more about time wasted, and crappy rewards, than tokens? tell me again how they aren't mutually exclusive. and how tokens are the problem. for the record, i don't particularly like tokens either, but i like the idea of them. with more meaningful rewards they will be fine.

Speaking as a person who is currently replaying D1, sure in theory it’s the same. But even if you took the reputation system of D1, and attached it to the reward system of D2, people would still complain. I was and always am still excited for faction packages, mainly because of random rolls. Every package had a chance to be something truly special. In D2, they could give me a master work and an exotic in a single reward, and I still wouldn’t be happy. 2 masterwork cores and 5 legendary shards? ...[i]yaaaay[/i]

i agree. i think the tokens aren't really the issue, its the rewards for them. once we get random rolls, i feel may people won't have a few thousand tokens in their vault any more. at least for a little while anyway.
