I get that WoW has more content, but no one bats an eye to pay $20 a month just to play the game while still having tons of micro transactions etc. Lol. This game is pennies compared to WoW for a year, and this is just my opinion, but this game has more fun replay value compared to a game like WoW.

Edited by Ramirenzo: 6/6/2018 5:28:58 PMYeah but WoW is outdated and PC only, if you want something comparable look at playing something like Final Fantasy XIV for a year versus playing Destiny 2 for a year starting now. The FFXIV base game with expansions can be picked up on Amazon for $40, sub per month is $12.99. Total: $195. Destiny 2 requires all the DLC so your base game on Amazon is $15, then you need this years DLC's (Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Forsaken) so that's $70, then the DLC's for the year you'll play so thats another $70, then your Annual Pass: $35. Total: $190. So in FFXIV, my extra $5 pays for more regular higher quality updates, far quicker bug fixing, better servers, better aftersales, no lootboxes, far more community options that don't require a seperate website to manage, a better story, better balancing and generally way more to do, as I have 5 years of content to play through. I only have to worry about shelling out a lump sum once every 2 years for an expansion, and even on the PSN version I don't have to pay for PS+.

And a fractions of the content too, that matters

Yes, and? What's your point? If you don't play all of the content throughout the year in WoW, does this mean you get your money back? Just because WoW has more content, doesn't mean you'll be able to play through all of it and get your money's worth or even enjoy all of the content it has to offer.

Uhhhh...yeah it does.

Thank god someone on this post has some common sense, thank you

I would submit it’s about player base. Contrary to what the forums look like, there are millions of Destiny players that would pay. A lot of players probably don’t even know these forums exist and are happily playing their game instead of complaining about pocket change like the children on this forum. As big release sales start to slump, it makes more sense for a company to transition to a sub to ensure consistent revenue vs spikes. Or go free to play/pay to win.

Millions he says lol

There's so much more to grind for in WoW and things take sooooo much longer
