Every competitive FPS on the market has learned this lesson by prodiving cosmetic rewards only.
When you start giving out super powerful weapons as rank reward you will bring out the very worst in players. Even more cheating than we have now, abuse, toxicity, in a game that already lost majority of its playerbase. It's a recipe for disaster.
How could experienced PVP designers make such a naive mistake?

This is why pvp needs to be separated, pve players will complain it’s not fair and the forums will fill with angry posts. I see two solutions: 1. Separate the game modes. Or 2. Add ALL gear to ALL pvp/pve endgame activities.
