This is why pvp needs to be separated, pve players will complain it’s not fair and the forums will fill with angry posts. I see two solutions: 1. Separate the game modes. Or 2. Add ALL gear to ALL pvp/pve endgame activities.

  • And then that will make it so that everything is easy to get and then we wonder why we don’t find the game fun. Everyone is so quick to say that there needs to be a grind until they realize that a grind means not everybody will have every weapon. Entitled children are going to ruin the games industry

    That’s fine I fully get that, so separate the two, simple, job done, pvp gets what they want (balance) and pve gets what it wants (more exiting gear) Don’t forget it’s only a matter of time before pvpers flood these forums calling for nerfs after the weapon buffs.

  • But then the game will just be boring. If I can’t use what I got in pvp anywhere I want it’s limiting and boring. The fact of the matter is, the community has to be okay with the fact that some people will get this weapon and others won’t. That’s just the way it is. No body complains about the raid exotic being good, so why should this be different

  • As long as there are options to combat these “powerful pve weapons” then yes. But I don’t really understand what pve weapons would have to do with effecting pvp balance

  • Did you play D1? Nearly all exotics got nerfed because of PvP whining about them being op along with grenades, jumps and supers, this killed pve for a lot of people. I hope you understand why I believe the two modes in their current state can’t coexist. I stopped playing back in October, why? One reason was all the weapons were just boring in pve, why? Because it made it easier to balance pvp.

  • I did play D1 and this really want that big of an issue. Pve is so easy that pvp nerfs are barely noticeable. And a lot of pve weapons didn’t get touched because those weapons weren’t good in pvp. Pvp and pve really don’t effect each other that much

  • I’m guessing you’re a PvPer from that comment, so it’s fine for pve to take nerfs for the sake of PvP but it’s not ok for pve players to have access to a weapon from pvp in a prestige raid?

    You guessed wrong mate. I play both. And no, because pvp players can’t get raid weapons from playing pvp so why should pve players get pvp weapons from playing pve? And I never said pve should take nerfs for the sake of pvp. I just said that this doesn’t happen all that often

  • That’s why I said ALL gear to be added to all endgame activities pvp and pve. Within the first two weeks of warmind pvpers will be crying for nerfs and pve players will be crying about not being able to get that pvp weapon, it will be a $h1t storm on these forums once again.

  • This is stupid though because then there is no exclusivity. There NEED to be weapons that not everyone can get because otherwise there is no sense of progression, shit is just handed to you. If there is no challenge to getting weapons the game becomes boring

  • Exclusivity breeds progression. If there is something that you can only get by doing something you don’t normally do, you are forced to get better at that part of the game and once you do you are rewarded

  • And that’s my point “you are forced” to play a mode that you have no interest in. That’s not enjoyment. You do understand that only a small minority of players complete a normal raid and even less complete a prestige raid? So a majority of players won’t have that weapon, what’s the problem with that?

  • You just contradicted yourself. You are saying everything should be available every where but then you said there is no problem with a small minority of the community having the raid weapons. I agree with that last part btw. There is no problem with that, so why can’t pvp players get the same?

  • I was making a compromise, my ideas aren’t set in stone. I’m all for challenging rewards but in game modes that people want to spend time in. why not have raid gear in competitive pvp the same as that pulse, that way it would keep people playing, and endgame pvp would be more rewarding. You say you play both modes? But the majority of your time is in PvP, you have only raided once or twice the same as nightfall’s, that says to me you prefer pvp, so wouldn’t you prefer to get endgame rewards in a mode you enjoy?

  • Yep you’re right, hopefully they remove clan engrams as well, that would encourage more raiding.
