Powerful weapon as comp. reward will bring out the worst in players, Bungie
Every competitive FPS on the market has learned this lesson by prodiving cosmetic rewards only.
When you start giving out super powerful weapons as rank reward you will bring out the very worst in players. Even more cheating than we have now, abuse, toxicity, in a game that already lost majority of its playerbase. It's a recipe for disaster.
How could experienced PVP designers make such a naive mistake?

There is Rapid-fire exploit in the game, it wast here since D1 and people who actively used it kill other players in 0.1 seconds were NEVER BANNED. Search youtube for Clay_is_clutch, XXVinzmanXX, Mo_Lester_No1 Search for couple of latest Aztecross Gaming videos with Clay_is_clutch in action. BLATANT CHEATERS DO NOT GET BANNED. EXPLOITS DO NOT GET FIXED. Bring it on, can't wait for ranked.

I don’t want everything to given to each other stupid easily like this whole game has already given everyone everything with a Lolly pop too. This game already is casual, let’s change that already. No more easy stuff, and as laughable as the report system is, I’ll use it if someone is cheating hands down. It’s all you can do, and it’s what I’ll sure likely too.

With the current problems with internet speeds, there's no true fair crucible games, I've tested with DSL, High speed and fiber optic....I became a better guardian as my speed increased! On DSL I've had many games where I couldn't even damage opponents w a super!

Edited by Risky: 4/27/2018 2:23:58 PMso this reward should be 40% of the way to max glory. if we assume Uniform distribution among all glory participants then ~60% of players should get it? maybe more if players get up to fabled then fall back down. normal distribution would be even higher. but a positive skew is more likely.

2 RepliesSorry I disagree completely. I am happy to see Bungie make a reward based entirely on skill. I say this knowing I will likely never get this weapon as I am not good at PVP, but I am completely fine with that. Just because I have bought the game doesn't mean I deserve every reward or piece of loot. The highest level activities in both PVE and PVP should be where the highest level rewards should be earned. Obviously exotics are obtainable from numerous sources and with the exotic pass, are in a much better place and are available to all players fairly easily so it is not as it Casual players have no access to powerful weapons. Plus best of class weapons are not going to change dramatically until September when we get archetype and slot changes. So your Better Devils, Nameless Midnight and Uriels Gift are still going to be really good for quite awhile. Having a few carrots to chase for those of us who do high level activities in PVE or PVP is a GOOD thing for this game. For me I live in the Raid, particularly the Prestige raid. I find it ridiculous that you can be a part of a clan and get raid rewards without doing the raid. Participation trophies are part of why this game is in the state it is. Bungie is making improvements. This is a positive improvement. I really hope the next Prestige Raid has some kind of unique weapon as well.

Unfortunately not unexpected Bungie has always catered for a small elitist group of PvP players their wishes have always predominated over the average PvE player. Also having having PC players in the mix will add another detrimental aspect given the variety of cheating tools available for that platform. You do not have to rise to the bait, 95% of the game experience can be had without having to enter this part of the game. Good gaming to all.

back in D1 I once witness a solo player take out everyone , over and over again, one shot one kill, 5 kills , 10 kills , 20 kills, 30 kills, and on and on. you spawned and died, shot through buildings , walls etc . you couldn't even pull up you ghost and leave, for some strange reason I think the player was cheating.. now I am a terrible pvp player, most people on this forum have probrably killed me at some point, but hey it's only a game were here to have fun. But I'm good enough to see obvious cheaters & running into these people just ruins the game.

Well i know people liked their raid gear and other rewards for achieving tough tasks. I for one was inspired to get the holographic prestige raid gear! In halo i was proud of the flaming helmet and samurai sword, it didnt make me a D-bag. When i saw something cool i was inspired not upset i even friend people who best me...

31 RepliesI don't tend to play Trails or competitive because of this attitude. It's simply not a fun mode and draws the most toxic players like moths to a flame. Bungie seem to have made zero headway into banning cheats and exploit users so now those same players will be moved to the quick play competitive list. Anyone who isn't a sweat will then end up having to avoid that list like the plague while watching it fall to cheats, DDoS attacks and on the PC mods and cheats without a dedicated server system in sight. Yea instead of the claim (on the stream) that anyone using the gun will have proven their prowess. It's going to be exactly like the trials emblem became in D1. It was literally known as the cheats emblem! You saw someone with it and you would hear people openly saying (in party and gamechat) "There goes another cheaters emblem user"

20 RepliesThis is why pvp needs to be separated, pve players will complain it’s not fair and the forums will fill with angry posts. I see two solutions: 1. Separate the game modes. Or 2. Add ALL gear to ALL pvp/pve endgame activities.

Well trials was this was for a lot of D1 and people actually loved it. There needs to be weapons that only the most skilled players have. Also, I believe cod lets you unlock different perks based on your rank but the reason this works is because it only changes your stats by a little, and pro players are able to work this to the best of their abilities. There will be other guns that can combat the new gun, i doubt it will be op.

13 RepliesLol, you clearly don't know what the community has been asking for for the past 6 months. People have made it very clear that they DON'T want more cosmetic only rewards from activities. If it would have been only cosmetic, people would say it's stupid and nobody would care. You must be really stupid if you think Bungie made this decision on their own. The entire community is the reason for this. We got info a few months ago about these, but everyone complained that it was only emblems. This reward was most likely implemented SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE IT'S WHAT PEOPLE ASKED FOR. I wish I didn't have to write in all caps, but it feels like I have to if idiots like you are ever going to understand.

I agree but more in line with an already toxic PvP will give the trolls a greater reason to enforce; if I can’t have, anyone who plays with me can’t either, trolls/throwers don’t need another reason to piss us off! The community when together online isn’t what it used to be, social media monkeys and their teenage habits are worse than ever, wish it was like it used to be when joining a room meant an hello and not shouting, screaming and jumping around the map for attention to their lemming like doom, defective minds for sure!
