Assuming that all of the problems are due to pvp balancing is a mistake. In fact, the failed balancing effort has had its largest impact on pvp making the game un-fun to play. The same issues we feel in PvE are exacerbated in PvP. Bungie’s approach to balance was a continuous string of nerfs. Balance implies keep things constant and do minor adjustments to fine tune the gameplay. Had they started this in vanilla D1 and continued it we would be in great shape now. Instead what was done was nerf after overreaching nerf, which had unintended consequences, which lead to more nerfs. The result is a slow game in both pvp and PvE. The problems are the same. Separate them and you still have the same problems.

  • Separation will cause the exact opposite

  • If separation is needed then fine, but since pvp and PvE have the same problems I’m not sure it is necessary. This is not a failure in balancing. It is a failure in making a game fun to play compared to its predecessor.

  • They don't even remotely have the same problems, what are you talking about.

Lack of movement, lack of power, lack of abilities, lack of playmaking. Sure they do. What’s different? Please list the things that good pvp players want that good PvE players do not.

  • It's the main reason this game is bland and boring👎🏻

  • It is more bland and more boring for PvP. If they asked for this, and the nerfs are a result of things requested by PvP players then it is definitively a case of be careful what you ask for... because you might get it. The result is that the PvE players are annoyed, and the PvP players are playing Overwatch. Separating PvE from PvP tuning accomplishes nothing unless the underlying objectives of said tuning are revisited and adjusted.

  • Yes it DOES accomplish something, it SEPARATES the tuning for each mode so you're not pissing off BOTH sides EVERY TIME you make a change I think Bungie is just too lazy to tune ANYTHING individually, it's the same thing with the two primary system, less fun but easier to tune for half ass Bungie👎🏻

  • Absolutely! But both sides are complaining about the same issues. Boring gameplay, lack of ability to make plays, not feeling powerful, slow movement. As long as those issues are addressed I don’t care if pvp and PvE are separate or not, but since they are the same issues I’m not sure that separation is the solution.

  • They are NOT the SAME though, PvE wants to feel powerful, PvP wants EVERYTHING NERFED PvE doesn't need guns, grenades, space magic, movement, accuracy, range, jumps, upgrade trees and classes nerfed because of PvP crybabies They need to be separated FIRST so they can be balanced CORRECTLY

  • Watch any video on the state of the game by a good pvp player, or talk to any good pvp player. They all want the same things and don’t want everything nerfed. The only people who cried about it were the bad pvp players... who thought they were good. I was killed by bullets... nerf bullets. If bungie is stupid enough to cater to that crap then they deserve every bit of what is happening today.

  • Well then the MAJORITY of the PvP community must SUCK, cause nerf posts are the ONLY post I see coming from PvP "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Antiope D is soooooooooo OP, whaaaaaaaaaaaaa grenade spam is sooooooooo OP, panic supers are sooooooooooo OP" and on and on and on PvP should just have their own generic guns like in Halo and not even be able to use PvE guns

  • Pathetic isn’t it? Then why does Bungie listen to it, and drag PvE along? If all of these lame ass changes were made for PvP, then why are all the PvP players leaving? The people making those requests are not smart enough to realize that if they get what they are asking for the game will be dull and boring... exactly like what we have today. In D1 there was actually a fairly large anti nerf consensus that realized this... unfortunately nobody listened to us.

  • I disagree. As long as balance is required for PVP's sake and lengthy TTKs, PVE will remain as dead as the RPG aspect of this game. Nothing will ever be worth having or going after if it cannot standout. Anything that stands out gets nerf to maintain balance in PVP TTK.

  • Pvp ttk is too long. That is exactly part of the problem.
