If it makes power weapons redundant, why weren’t they redundant in D1 then?

Never felt the need to get heavy in D1 I'd grab the special and snipe people going for heavy cause I'm a nerd lol, but yeah I get your points and with the right economy it can work, but I quite like the way the new system is currently.
