Someone asked me why D1 PvP is better than D2 PvP: Here's what I replied with

"Faster times to kill meant you could chain insane plays. Better weapon layouts; quick scoping, shot gunning, etc... It was more common, but very counterable. RANDOM WEAPON ROLLS; everyone could have the same gun, but rolls played more importance. A shitty gun could shine with good rolls, and vice versa. It also added a grinding component to PvP that made finishing games more rewarding. Not just 4v4. 4v4 is really competitive. Don't get me wrong, I loved sweaty trials, but I loved going into a 6v6 and just going wild. 2v2 was fun as well. You and a buddy vs another duo. Different games modes and private matches; now we have limited modes with no private matches. Exotics; not as strong as when the game launched, but very good. They felt strong. You had to think hard about which gun was gonna be equipped. Same with armor. There was so much variety. Sub classes; there was A LOT more variety. I'd change my perks from game to game, always testing new paths out. Now they're plain and stale. No diversity. That's just a few points." Edit: Thanks for the feedback. Sadly, it doesn't matter how many posts are made. Bungie will continue "fixing" their game as they see fit. Even Destiny YouTube channels are changing games. This is because D2 is boring for them AND D2 is boring for the audience. We gave Bungie our freedom (fun) in exchange for security (balance).

Here is the biggest problem with D2 PvP and why many top tier players are turned off. They nerfed the skill ceiling and buffed the skill floor. They have been doing this since right after D1 HoW. Why majority of players say D1 HoW was the best era for PvP. The consistent nerfs from then to now leaves us with D2. Meaning: gun skill, fast reaction times, etc. are not as much of a factor. Teamwork is more of a factor. However, individual skill is not. Killing the fun out of it. And the "how did he do that, wow" factor. F/E in D1 trials. If it was a 1 v 3. Me against 3 say 1.0 kd kids. I would have a good chance of winning. In D2 trials. If it was a 1 v 3 against average players I would loose every time (without heavy/super). They gave the lower skill tier kids a better chance to survive if they had good teamwork. That's good and all, but hasn't change anything but killed the fun factor. My kd in D2 is the same as D1. My trials team, even with a carry, still destroys most teams. It's just not as much fun anymore. There is rarely a kill where I think "wow that dude/dudes got out played." This was the first trials weekend I didn't even play in a long time. Since I quit D1 during the sticky meta. This is just an observation from a top 1% D1 crucible vet
