So my Dad finally finished Destiny 2 today....

My dad, who has been a Y1 Veteran (even tho he sorta stopped playing after TTK when everyone was hit with the WEASEL errors and we were never able to connect to each other again after that until Age of Triumph), finally decided to finish Destiny 2 tonight. When he saw the ending and got to the tower, his main response was this: (in which I'm only slightly paraphrasing because I can't remember the exact wording here) "Destiny 2 is much much more disappointing than Mass Effect: Andomeda." Let that sink in a second. Mass Effect: Andromeda was so poorly received that EA has since discontinued all support of Single Player DLC for the game and probably won't make another Mass Effect game, and Destiny 2 managed to beat that. Look, I'll admit; I was really hoping that this would be the return of the one game that my family and I would play together almost every weekend and on a good amount of weeknights. And I've been trying to support Destiny 2 for so long, but considering I haven't played since Week 2 just about, and I've been losing more and more ways of being able to support it for so long, it's just sorta happened. I can't say that I like Destiny 2 right now. I'm not saying it won't be good in the future if Bungie can actually change the game for the better in the DLC, but part of me is telling myself not to hold my breath here. I haven't once even attempted to do either the nightfall or the raid because of all the different BS put in like the timer and the gimmicky way of going around said BS. I'm still partially holding out for hope here that the game might become good in the future, but in the meantime, I guess I've still got games on my Laptop and Elite Dangerous on my PS4

 • It's anecdotal, but indicative. There are stories like this all over the place. Not usually about someones dad, but lots of stories about people finishing the game and quitting right away. The problems with the endgame become evident almost as soon as you get there. Most of us see it right away, some of us take a couple weeks to notice, but eventually, we'll all see how bad this game is. Your dad is one of the smarter among us. He should be congratulated. It took me a couple days to figure out how bad this game is after I finished the story.
