Where is the "TON OF LOOT"
Am i missing something?
I'm quoting Cayde-6 here:

A looting game is really the last thing we got. Hmm lets see:
-mediocre campaign (check)
-boring, 'competitive' multiplayer (check)
-No endgame (check)
-.... (check)
Yikes! We got another call of duty but this time with a destiny skin!
Let's be real, the "raid" only exists because there was no way they could get away without one, it even feels completely out of place.
But seriously, this game is nothing of what destiny should have been. Where are the rpg elements, where is the LOOT? Where is character customization, leveling, and depth?
(Edit) So, since this post is trending now, i would like to elaborate:
You can look up what kind of expectations people had 5 months ago and you should instantly notice how shallow and outrageously unimaginative Destiny 2 ACTUALLY is. People were hoping for:
open world PvP,
an ingame lore lexicon,
SPACE BATTLES,
improved leveling system,
more PvE activities,
more leveling depth,
....!
I personally was humble and hoping for improved and more diversified bounties and a better implementation of the gunsmith test weapons, basically i wanted more to do in the rpg part of the game.
BUT the one thing that no one even anticipated was how they REMOVED like 70% of all the features that NO ONE had a problem with in Destiny 1!

note to bungie: DUBLICATES DO NOT COUNT AS LOOT! I wonder how the people who made this game did not notice how dumb fixed rolls are.

It's all there, in your shader inv. Lots and lots of them. Shaders are now considered loot, isn't that special?

I think cayde meant a ton of tokens because that's all you get from doing everything in the game.

2 RepliesIn Bungie's defense, there is quite a bit of loot. It's just that, with the way the loot is now, only a few things are really being used. Static archetype weapon rolls that the only difference is aim assist will result in the gun with the best aim assist winning (I'm looking at you Urial's Gift). I think there are like 190 guns or something like that, it's just that over half (probably closer to 3/4) are completely useless.

For me, all of the loot is bad news. Literally. As in I get "Bad News" like 99% of the time.

7 Replies1 ton= 2,000 pounds. Therefore, if the totak wieght of all loot= 4,000 or above, it will be tons of loot. Considering all of the weapons and armor, it easily breaks that. There is tons of loot.

To compensate for the fact that all the loot in Destiny 2 is static, the [b]quantity[/b] of loot available should have gone up 100 times what this game launched with

Instead, we got some weird mixture of improvements, but lost everything built up to Y3 on top of it. The loss of Y3 improvements is what has killed Destiny 2 for most reasonable fans. It's kind of saying something when people can return to the original Destiny (including myself) and find it more entertaining and refreshing than Destiny 2. All the little things really added up. Destiny 2 is completely soulless now. The little things like strike medals count. And jumping in and enjoying my Genesis Chain or Jade Rabbit again, and wrecking baddies with solar burn buffs - FUN! I mean, for fs, in the first strike I ran the other night I dropped an exotic and two legendaries, ON TOP of the strike specific loot. WHERE IS THAT? None of that is in Destiny 2. They completely gutted it. They pandered to the casuals. Never pander to casuals. Casuals aren't the people that stuck by Bungie when Destiny 1.0 was a wreck. Casuals aren't the people that defended the missteps and gave feedback, making Destiny a better experience. Casuals aren't the people that continually purchased the DLC. Casuals aren't the people that participated in Eververse. Casuals are the people that played Destiny's "campaign" for a few hours, threw away the disc and then harassed everyone online that continued to play the game for 3 years. Thank you Bungie. Thank you for stabbing all of us in the back. You know, the people that kept the game alive and relevant for three years. I guess you always figured we would just "throw money at the screen" like mindless sheep anyway. Right?

CHA-CHING!

1 ReplyThere IS a tone of loot ... none of it is loot that anyone really wants, but there is a ton of it out there! It’s like raiding a sunken old ship in the Caribbean and finding nothing but iron chain links or something. No chest of gold, no gems or jewels ... just a box of old iron chain links. It’s loot, but so what? The trouble here is that there really aren’t any items worth grinding for. There is nothing that produces the same excitement of a Ghorn drop, or a Fatebringer drop, or the Vex Mytho ... When I got those in D1 year 1 I was beyond stoked. What exactly should make me feel like that in this game?

I think he copied all the weapons, mods, armors and exotics, and pasted them over and over. That's how I believe the ton of loot means.
