He lost a lot of credibility this with review... at least for me. Someone made a comment about watching him play Dark souls- he didnt even lock on to his target. So i cant take him seriously when he talks about the raid. And a LOT his pro's and negatives directly relate to the campaign and stuff. He completely misses the point of why people play Destiny. There are a lot of negatives sure but there is a reason we look past them. No other game out there delivers the stuff Destiny does. The memories I've had playing with friends in this game are priceless. He plays Destiny like it's not an MMO. I dunno I can't explain it he just doesnt get what itch it's supposed to scratch.

Destiny isn't an mmo so of course people play it like so.

Edited by Big_E': 9/19/2017 12:18:47 PMIt actually is. Its a shared world shooter and the endgame activities were always advertised to be HEAVY multiplayer / group activities. You are confusing MMO with MMORPG
-
Till I see more than 16+ people in events then no, it's not an mmo. You know, even Bungie has stayed away from outright calling it an mmo and has more or less said it only has mmo elements. Most people are going to view it as a co-op loot shooter more so than anything else, which I can agree to that. May as well call battlefield an mmo too by that logic.

Co-op loot shooter, mmo, etc etc again dont confuse it with mmorpg. Ive had 10 to 12 people on one public event and thats not counting the other players in the other zones that happened to not be farming PE's. Either way it has always been billed as a MULTIPLAYER game. Even so Bungie has provided matchmaking for MOST of the content in the game so you can play by yourself even if its in a team. This is not uncharted, gears, halo, dishonored, borderlands, etc. The argument that ENDGAME content in a game like this should be in any way scaled or catered to the solo player is asinine and agreed upon by any serious player. This game only works as multiplayer. Look at the campaign and anything in this game that isnt the grind. If it was solo would anyone play it? I sure wouldnt lol.

Who says I'm confusing it with an mmo RPG? You're making that assumption yourself when I've had various arguments where I don't consider it an mmo or an RPG at all. At best it's very mmo/RPG lite and that's it's. I consider it a co-op loot shooter, just like borderlands but with 2 other people playing with you. There's nothing massive to this game to make it an mmo and as an RPG gamer at heart destiny is laughable on what little RPG elements it uses and messes up.
-
Mmo is technical term you dont have to take it literal. And i have far more people playing with me than 2. And even so you just proved my point. 2 more people is not solo. M.u.l.t.i.p.l.a.y.e.r lol not trying to be a wise guy

You keep changing the goal posts lol. So first "I'm" assuming something is an MMO/RPG, now you're on about solo play and multiplayer. Maybe if you don't mention mmo with destiny you wouldn't confuse yourself, would help if this generation of gamers actually knew what game genres are and how to classify as such. How else do you think someone is going to take "well maybe if joe didn't play the game like it was not an mmo"

Edited by Big_E': 9/20/2017 3:56:34 PMNot to insult but im at a lose for what you are saying because its all off. "Until I see 16+ people in an event its not an mmo." I main tanked in WoW for years and WoW is THE definition of an mmo and pretty much everything you did in there was less than 16 people. Dungeons were 5. Karazan raid was 10. Daily quests had me running into maybe a handful of people in the same area doing them. The town had 16+ for sure. So where did 16+ come from? Just a random number you picked? It scales by game and type of game. There is no minimum player count to define what is a shared world. So maybe if you explain that comment first i can understand but those goalposts werent even on the ground. And im 34 so you "assumed" im a new generation gamer. Im an atari and nintendo guy bud. And i referenced multiplayer because thats what this game is and should not be scaled to solo players. At least not the endgame. Oh and a lot of people think mmo only means a grand scale WoW or final fantasy or guild wars type game. So yeah i didnt mean to assume
