Was the campaign too short ? maybe. Progression was fine and constant. I was also disappointed that we got our light straight away. I was expecting more missions lightless. Progress from 265 upwards depends on random +5 gear mods and if you don't get them, its a grind. Feels uneven when you look at the progress in the campaign. The shader-gate thing. yeah, I don't know why the hell they changed it to single use. So much so that I have only put on 2 shaders. 1 on my sparrow and 1 on my ghost. the micro transactions are in there, yes, but you do get a lot of bright engrams during your play through, and are completely ignorable. Hardly pay to win. I really don't think endgame has changed since D1 same Nightfall, Raid, trials, and grind for gear up to max power, and collect exotics till the next DLC. The clans thing. gear drops for the clan, I can get behind. Easier for big clans to get more stuff and perks. Guided games I'm not sure about. The raid revive token system really doesn't need to be in normal mode The removal of the web site grimoire was bad, and the in game system is shit, right now. I was expecting a record book type of thing for the lore and the collectables, but can and done and listen to the audio log, and read the lore for the exotics, some more work on that I would say better than D1, but Ghaul comes out of nowhere and goes right back to nowhere. I don't really feel that it expanded on the "main" destiny story threads, beginning and ending in the same circular fashion as all the destiny stories. At this point each new story is more like a short story. If I had to score I'd say 7 maybe 7.2. D1 was a 5.6 for me

  • at 265 there was a wall I hit hard. The progress was great and then smack a wall at 300 mph. its all uphill from here. I find it hard to disagree with Joes review.

  • Past 265 isn't a grind it's just murky swap water.

  • Progress over 275 is not based on mods.

  • without mods and infusing into your moded gear you progress will be entirely reliiant on just grinding exotics and hope they drop higher power. Public events cease to be fun, and are a replacement to strikes. I can do like 6 heroic public events in the time I can do 1 strike.I found the whole exotic /public event grind a game killer. Is was much easier to get higher power by using the rando legendary mods Luminous engrams don't come quick enough to be useful in leveling Using my mod method I went from 265 to 273 in an hour. no grind for exotic required and more balanced progress overall, but the reliance on random mods at this point is luck. The more legendary mods RNG gifts you with with, the faster your progress up the power.

  • Or you know... get the powerful engrams from doing NFs, milestones etc.? Mods sure do help but its not like the leveling system is based on them.

  • ran out of milestones. 2-3 levels a week doesn't cut it for me. 2-3 levels a night I can cope with. Also ran out of adventures and quests. Timed nightfalls aint fun. I can't think of anything in a game thats actually enhanced by putting a -blam!-ing countdown timer on it. Without mods your stuck with packages dropping at your level, and waiting for a rest so you can make little progress on the next set of grind-stones. Do 5 challenges, do 2 strikes, play 2 crucible matches, etc, etc. To me the endgame in D2 is exactly the same as D1. I don't feel the weekly ritual will keep me playing longer. Nightfall, raid, trials, and I don't play trials.
