D2 Loadout needs to be rethought prior to launch

I think this is a huge misstep. Limiting choices to pve players for a pvp problem. - Elemental primaries were not a huge issue. They only helped with a very limited amount of enemies, shielded of the right element. No effect in pvp (currently), no added effect on all other enemies. If this is felt it needs to be corrected make different of the same race have more variety of shield elements for different enemy types. There, done. Elemental primaries are less effective and can be non-exotic and eliminates "energy weapons" which is pointless. - In pve, I dont want to have to pick between a sniper or rocket launcher. I want both! Or shotgun and the new grenade launcher! Shotguns and fusion rifles are going to be done in pve. Use will be way way down. - Keep the current system and just add special drops for individuals (same as proposed with power weapons) in pvp and /or move shotguns, snipers, fusion rifles back to special. Or even let me pick, elemental primary or kinetic sniper/shotgun in the energy slot. A shotgun or fusion rifle shouldnt take up my heavy slot, I want something that blows stuff up. A couple of alternative options that will make pve just as enjoyable as it is currently without limiting player choices.

  • My biggest issue with weapon loadouts in Destiny stems from PvE and not PvP. Was it annoying having everyone use a sniper/shotgun 24/7 in the crucible...sure, but no where near as bad as what happened to PvE. Realistically, all end game PvE devolved into a "go to point A, snipe/rocket boss; repeat". This is much more limiting. I'll ask you a question: how many nightfalls/raids did you actually bring a fusion rifle into? I'm not talking about messing around with during the opening bit, or the jump puzzle. I mean you spent the majority of the raid or strike with the fusion rifle equipped. Same thing with sidearms. I think Destiny feels best when you are taking advantage of the buttery-smooth shooting system, and moving about the battlefield. Camping with a sniper is safe, but it is boring AF. Bungie tried to fix this: removed the camp spot during Crota...everyone just moved over a little. Remove the camp spots at oracles, confluxes and Templar...new ones found. Relying on a sniper encourages camping. By making "primary weapons" more prevalent, a more mobile play style is encouraged. Additionally, after seeing footage from the inverted spire, it looks like Bungie had designed PvE content with this in mind. Personally, I'm happy AF, as I can now use a HC and SR at the same time.
