My biggest issue with weapon loadouts in Destiny stems from PvE and not PvP. Was it annoying having everyone use a sniper/shotgun 24/7 in the crucible...sure, but no where near as bad as what happened to PvE. Realistically, all end game PvE devolved into a "go to point A, snipe/rocket boss; repeat". This is much more limiting. I'll ask you a question: how many nightfalls/raids did you actually bring a fusion rifle into? I'm not talking about messing around with during the opening bit, or the jump puzzle. I mean you spent the majority of the raid or strike with the fusion rifle equipped. Same thing with sidearms. I think Destiny feels best when you are taking advantage of the buttery-smooth shooting system, and moving about the battlefield. Camping with a sniper is safe, but it is boring AF. Bungie tried to fix this: removed the camp spot during Crota...everyone just moved over a little. Remove the camp spots at oracles, confluxes and Templar...new ones found. Relying on a sniper encourages camping. By making "primary weapons" more prevalent, a more mobile play style is encouraged. Additionally, after seeing footage from the inverted spire, it looks like Bungie had designed PvE content with this in mind. Personally, I'm happy AF, as I can now use a HC and SR at the same time.

Why tf are you talking like as if you want to dps a boss with a -blam!-ing submachine gun in D2, that's just lunacy, small fry get small bullets, big boys get big toys. Can we have a BFG please bungie?

Why can't we have a mix? Some bosses with power, some with kinetic, some with elemental. Sometimes mix and match. My point was that every encounter shouldn't resort to using one of 2 weapons.

  • And wailing on a bullet sponge for 20 minutes with 2 primaries won't be boring as f,uck?

  • No, because you will be much more mobile, and the fights will evolve...meaning you need to adapt to the new environments and mechanics

  • So because we have to be mobile means we should be weak?

  • Well, we are kinda weak after loosing all our powers...but in general, we are just as strong, stronger for not having to rely on OHK weapons

Nor is your BORING spraying of an AR into it going to do the job either, there's a reason a sniper/rockets/single shot fusion/sword is used for heavy duty. I find it funny that you think primaries and such should be what we should use to kill a boss... PS: so what if we have ohk weapons? Isn't that the point of the game, to have powerful arsenal in our hands and not be weak? Lmao boi

  • Let me ask YOU a question: when's the last time it occurred to you that closing within shotgun or fusion range of a 40' tall bullet sponge with a huge and deadly AoE attack was a good idea? Think it might be a boss design issue?

Guess he's sure asf ain't gonna complete no raids with that mentality

  • Judging by the gameplay, that's not changing either.

  • Yeah but bungie won't just chuck destiny 1 health bars in d2! Also when have u actually used a special weapon for damage that wasn't spindle if u had heavy ammo? As long as power synths are in the game I see no issue with dps cause snipers will undoubtedly do the most boss damage so jus pop a synth and go to town

  • Fusion Rifle: all the time; one of the most entertaining and unique weapons in this game Side-arm: Last run through Wrath, but that's more coincidence. Sounds like you've had people telling you how to play. I'm sorry that's been your experience. I use primaries probably too much, and I'm not looking forward to the change to doubling up.

Sounds like you care more about being different than helping your team do damage. Snipers and Rockets (occasionally swords) are almost mandatory for boss fights, and if you aren't using them, you're voluntarily handicapping yourself.

  • While I agree that in raids you need to use certian weapons but I'm sure in D2 they are taking into account the weapon changes. I'm a PvE players and can tell you besides boss damage in raids I mainly use primary weapons.I love blasting through everything with Mida.I rarely ever use special weapons or heavy.I have about 187,000 kills with all special and all heavy weapons combined,in contrast I have 121,000+ kills alone with Mida and over 460,000+ scout rifle kills total.

  • That's quite a stretch. I don't care what people use so have no strategy to be different. Technically, using anything but the very best tool for the job is a handicap but this is a game, supposedly for fun, let's not limit ourselves to only using a few weapons. Can you make some short attempt to not so obviously show off your elitism.

  • It's more that Bungie made the best DPS weapons the Black Spindle and Ghorn. Sure there are others that can compete, but they require certain circumstances that make Ghorn just more user-friendly.

In my opinion, there are weapons that are better than ghorn. Like sleeper simulate, and swords.
