Top 7 Hardest Bosses in Destiny (in my opinion)

I made a list like this back in early Year 2 and it sucked. Plus, I felt there were not enough bosses in the game to even warrant a list. But now, we have tons of them, all with cool mechanics. Most of the guys on this list will be raid bosses, but some others will be thrown in. An honorable mention goes to Templar Challenge Mode. While this boss tripped many players up when it was Weekly Featured, it was generally not too hard for actual clans. So with that out of the way, lets get started with the list. 7. Crota, Son of Oryx Hard Mode 33 This comes as no surprise. Crota is notorious for being a broken boss, especially back in Year 1. Right now, his 390 version is considered easier because of the presence of the Chalice of Light, and the new Oversoul mechanic (where upon a damage phase, Crota summons an Oversoul). Here, there's no Chalice, Crota goes for the sword runner instead, and when the raid was still relevant, everything was a higher level than you. It made for good teamwork, but it's only lower on the list just because only 2 or 3 people actually did anything. Also, the Oversoul was summoned on a player death. Ouch. 6. Sekrion, Nexus Mind Void Burn God. Why does he have to exist. You've got adds all around you while this huge beast of a Vex Hydra is wailing on you with with his cannon o' death. Void Burn only made it worse since there were Minotaurs around along with the boss. Sure, there was the cheese spot at the top, but if you didn't manage that Minotaur then you were dead. There was cover, but it was quite limited in it's time and is more like a precursor to the still-to-come Year 2 arenas. Overall, not a very fun fight, but if you had Voidwalkers and Defenders to provide buffs and damage, you were fine for the most part. 5. Oryx, the Taken King (both 290 and 320) HOW DARE YOU PUT HIM THIS LOW ON THE LIST. Still my opinion. I never did do KF Hard Mode enough to get a good feel for it, but this fight was still pretty hard. By this point, everyone knew what to expect. The Normal Mode fight was hard, but was actually not too bad. It was just boring as hell. Hard Mode had the Light-Eater Knights to eep up with and you were surrounded by tougher enemies on the platforms. The hard part of this fight is the fact that if one guy messes up, it's back to the start and another 15-minute attempt. He always took 4 phases to down, and Doxology can easily take everyone down if you were pushing DPS. Maybe I'm a bit biased because I hate this fight with a passion, and generally the whole of KF. 4. Valus Ta'arc Solar Burn You knew this was coming. But why so low? Maybe it's because you have Gjallarhorn and Ice Breaker. The thing that made Valus so hard was his health pool. It took ages to kill him compared to the other bosses. He was the textbook definition of bullet sponge. Solar Burn made it easier, but at the same time if you were caught in the open by some adds (who did Solar Damage as well) you were screwed. Camping was really the only legitimate option and you either did it under a stairwell, or the overhanging lamps or whatever they are. Valus's ultimate ability that wiped many teams was definitely his Rocket Barrage. It fired 8 or so rockets rapily and they homed on you. This fight proves once again that Defender is the best Subclass in the world. 3. Skolas, Kell of Kells 35 Arc Burn I'm really getting bored at this point. This fight is just plain annoying. The fact that it's a Fallen Encounter is even worse since it's Arc Burn. So. What's the fight? I'll break it down. The first part is that Skolas is immune to all weapons. In order to make him vulnerable, you must kill a translucent Server which I cannot remember the name of at the moment. Kill it, and Skolas will be vulnerable. At 70% health, and new mechanic will come into play, and removes the Servitor mechanic. A debut called Devouring Essence will be placed upon a player. It last 30 seconds, and when it's up, you will die. To remove it, a player must take it from the afflicted player and they will gain another debut preventing them from taking it again for 40 seconds. So the debuff goes in a cycle. At 50% health, mines will come into play along with the aforementioned Devouring Essence. Dismantle the mines, and you can go back to sitting in a corner, cowering in fear from Fallen enemies and occasionally taking pot shots at Skolas. At 15% health or so, another set of mines will appear. Kill them dead, and then kill Skolas. The encounter is now complete. Did I mention there was Fallen in the encounter as well? 2. Qodron 32 Pre-Patch Who the hell is this guy? Back in HoW, there was a thing that nobody does anymore called Prison of Elders? Today it's known as Challenge of Elders, but that doesn't matter right now. You see there is a boss that literally no one remembers called Qodron. He was quite simple. He would detain you every now and then, and in order to break the bubble, you needed to kill Qodron's Eye. This guy was just a black Vex Goblin that upon being killed by a player, would give you a buff called Jail Breaker, which allowed you to break out of the bubble. So why is this guy so hard now? There weren't enough for everyone to get out of the detainment bubble. So you were stuck there and getting wailed on by this huge Gate Lord. It was truly the first time Gjallarhorn was ever actually needed to complete the boss, although a alternate method did exist that did involve breaking out of the bubble, as the detainment bubble were hella tough, and you needed to huddle around so everyone could be broken out. Still remains one of the toughest bosses. 1. Kovik, Splier Priest Void or Arc Burn Now we are getting into unfair territory. Everyone knows this fight sucks balls. The fight itself isn't so complicated. Kill Kovik while avoiding his monster that can ground stomp you into oblivion. Thankfully, the Ogre doesn't have a laser eye of death, but Kovik does have a laser eye of death, and it does Void Damage. So pretty much 2 seconds after he fires upon you, you are dead. 50% health and he will summon Shanks who fire upon you as soon as they spawn. You're gonna need a lot of Defenders. To recap, Kovik does Void damage, there is a giant Ogre chasing you who can get enraged at 20% health so he goes faster and at 50% health there are Shanks on the loose. Also, there's like no cover in the arena you fight them in. There's a couple of pillar and small barriers, and that is it. So yeah. No one will look at this. Might as well post and get over it. Also, what is the hardest boss in your opinion? Edit: updated list will come soon. Expect some changes. Also, how did this blow up? Edit 2: Atheon is gone and so is Aksis. Although they are fights that are difficult, they still require nice teamwork to complete and are fair fights. Now, there are only 2 raid bosses, 3 strike bosses, and 2 PoE bosses. Most of them are from Year 1 (2 are from the base game) and only 2 bosses on the list are Year 2 or 3, one of them being notoriously difficult.
