Ty for having a legit reason why we lose our gear
Cabal blew it to kingdom come everyone! I personally hate it when u lose ur stuff but theres no explanation as to why. But when Destiny 2 comes. The tower, where our vault is, is going to get blown to smithereens and from the looks of it our weapons on us are probably going to get damaged in all the fighting thats going to take place.
Yes its a bummer we lose everything but looking at it now. I believe it creates an interesting push. Look at God of War 2 and 3. U lose all ur powers but u feel this push to get ur powers back and some go back and kick all of their asses. Same here. When I lose my stuff thanks to those cabal -.- Im going to want to get even better weapons and gear go back to tower and blast some heads off. Looking forward to this Fall for sure.

Indeed. And then we can earn it back through paying money when they re release old gear from destiny 1 in DLC. Justifying it as "fan favorites"

I think it's more of the fact that a lot of people (def not me) spent a bunch of money on those damn micro transactions that bungie pushed so hard only to lose it all when d2 comes out. I personally could care less about the weapons and armor but at least let us keep our emblems that we worked hard on.

Ok... I think the stuff in our inventory screen, the reserve stuff, aside from what we have equipped, is a favorites list from the vault, and whenever our guardian switches weapons, our ghost transmats it for the vault into our hands, or onto our bodies OR Seeing as how our ghost made an advanced hard sealed combat suit out of 600+ year old car scraps, it could possibly scan, and deconstruct our gear into atoms n shyt, and store it locally, possibly our ship for easy transmat of materials OR They could be straight up stored in the ship as they are, and transmatted to us, but this would break the "everything was destroyed" bit of d2, unless our ship was docked at the tower But thisnstill leaves out our armor, you know, the stuff we're actually wearing, so unless we were but ass naked sleeping in one of the tower's trees or dancing for rahool's amusement, bungo will prolly play the "You were being refitted for new armor so you unequipped yours down to your base undersuit"

I bet Tess does not lose her stock, and I bet Master Rahool will still decrypt engrams into weapons and armour. Cayde still has his Ace of Spades too...

The reason for that is that our gear is rust away because of the mountains of Salt this forums have produced over the last 3 years... Have a good day

2 RepliesIm personally really excited for a complete refresh of gear and weapons. Starting over and seeing all of your friends level up while you do also and getting new awesome gear is honestly such a fun and rewarding thing to do. It will bring back a year one vibe which will be great. My characters are so worn out after hours and hours on end of grinding and playing the game. Im really looking forward to starting over.

More of a reason to still play destiny 1, when destiny 2 is out, to continue grinding for better armor/weapons

5 RepliesIt seems like a lore-driven reason for losing everything, true, but I'm not going to be thankful for the fresh start based off of lore alone. Given that this is the second reboot in how less than 2 years, I think its fair to expect big changes from the game that will actually improve the Destiny universe for the better, such as separating PVE from PVP. As dissatisfied as I am with having to leave my favorite stuff behind TWICE so that Bungie can reboot to fix all its mistakes (only to not fix them in the first reboot...), I'll accept the full reboot again so long as we actually get something good out of it.

2 RepliesI wasted three years playing this game over every other game. I made so many sacrifices not to miss an event and after I was told I can't bring over my gear it all became pointless and I felt relived. Still piss but I am now having fun playing games I want to play!
