I think you forget how awful Y1 was with content droughts, absolutely ludicrous Exotics like Suros and Thorn, bullshit drop rates and loot systems, and the abysmal PvE DLC content. Yeah, Nightfalls used to be harder but you also used to be able to get a literal 1 Strange Coin for completing it. And that was one of the more frequent drops too. Y1 was a god awful, RNG filled, bullshit grind.
