I actually disagree, quality of life is far better. Loot and drops are far better, the game is more challenging and the 3 new subclasses changed the game in ways you can't really explain.

Challenging? I can go in a strike. Pop 3 of coins and get an exotic engram. Easy Year 1, was much more difficult

Maybe the quality of the item but the amount was dire, that's why most went to the loot cave early on.
