Meta doesn't mean one loadout. It's a dominant play style focusing on efficiency with out exposing yourself to to much risk, and there are currently only a few dominant ones, with some variance here and there. (Map dependant, team dependant, game mode etc.) Look at other games like LOL, DOTA, Overwatch, COD, etc. They all have metas, but it doesn't mean everyone is using the exact same heroes or guns. It's more about archetype than exact hero or gun. Current Destiny Meta: >High ROF pulse: GOM/CleverDragon archetype >Max range HC: Eyesluna/Palindrome archetype >High impact/range Shotgun: Matador/Party Crasher archetype Generally speaking, that's the meta. Not everyone plays that way, including me since I still snipe, but the majority of good or at least decent players do because you're more likely to win with that setup over others. Tuning is needed because crucible is feeling stale. Bring up AR again, tune fusions, adjust subclasses. Shake things up. Like I said, I don't care about shotguns, but things need a fresh look when it comes to balance or they stagnate.

  • Yea, I didn't say meta was what everyone uses, I said its a clearly better load out eg most efficient, so yea we are saying the same thing. What I was arguing I don't see a clear dominant weapon, at least at my level which is where most players are. I alao guess we are coming at this from tow different angles. I only what changes to address problems and I don't see one. You think changes should be made for the sake of change. I prefer a stable solid game experience over shaking things up because things got stale. I do not want to go back to the sniper meta because that was a true meta that damn near required the use of snipers just to counter them. In contrast...LOTS of things counter shot guns

    True dat but that doesn't factor in usage percentages. It's just overall kills by weapon which is also due to a lot of meta chasers. It doesn't necessarily mean they are more successful than person using an auto rifle. Only that there are a bunch of pulse rifle so of course there are more pulse rifle kills. All I can truly say is that my personal experience fighting other average players. I do just as well with clever dragon as I do with righteous seven as I get with my distant star as I get with hopscotch pilgrim... So yea. Don't get me wrong I'm sure meta matter at your level but us average scrubs...those advantages are going to go unnoticed because we missing shots and not hitting crits so we are never hitting the weapons tried TTK anyway.

  • Solid/stable is fine when there is variety of choices while remaining competitive. Currently there are about 3 or 4 archetypes of competitive weapons, each with 1 or 2 god rolls. That's a meta, that's poor balance.

    I'm sure it's because of your 2.0 kd that you are having this experience but I can use just about any archetype (given the right roll) and still maintain my usual overall average. I would also say people at your level are a minority so most of the people complaining don't even have to deal with what you are experiencing. That's what I'm getting at, most people complaining aren't good enough that a slight edge is not going to register in their kd, so meta doesn't exist for most of the player base.
