I agree, but really I think it would be better if Bungie lets you choose 1 character to bring over and thats it... I'm talking light level, all current stats at the time, and all grimoire. No weapons and no armor pieces.
Cosmetic items would be OK like sparrows, ships, emblems etc. It's just me personally I would prefer everything start over except my chosen character!
This way you are taking familiarity with you and a certain sense of accomplishment but still be willing to try out the new worlds and gear.
However I do believe that if Destiny 2 is a good enough game, assuming Bungie has learned their lessons, that the majority of us won't mind a complete reboot!!
There is one thing that will be the deal breaker, I actually like the Crucible in this game. You don't have to be an elite player to have fun in PvP in Destiny, which is a major draw for this game! Wether I win or lose, I'm ok with it as long as there is very little to no LAG!!
If a player is wrecking me because he is simply better than me? No big deal, good for him/her! When its because anything I do causes no damage? Thats just terrible execution on Bungie's part.
They have to do a better job on Crucible! As well as Story, Strike, Raids! A better job in equal parts, throughout the game in fact!! They have the gun play and abilities spot on for the most part! Which is very important, but everything else is equally important!!
