(If you disagree with me, feel free to. But let's keep it civil guys please. There's gonna be enough hate on the internet today. Let's not add to it. Respect and decency for life bro!)
Okay, whether or not you like Destiny (I do) or you don't (some don't), I think we can all agree, at least for people who were here from the start: it's not what we were expecting. We were expecting full on open worlds with massive amounts of things to do, lots of content, space battles, awesome guns, custom PVP as well as the the elite modes, the list goes on and I'm sure there is something on YOUR personal wishlist. (IN GAME GRIMOIRE for me. Add yours!)
Point is, this game is alright... but it could be so much more. And the only way it will be so much more, is if we throw out the old and redo things with the lessons we learned from 1. Bigger worlds. More things to do. Better guns. ETC.
The problem with doing this is that in doing so, a lot will be left behind. And I know a lot of people would be mad at all their hard work being left behind. Hell, I know I am. I just did the Thorn bounty and knowing that there is a real chance that may be irrelevant in 2 really pisses me off.
But we need to think? Why do we play games? For fun. So which would you rather have: A bunch of in game items, or a version of Destiny that (Hopefully) is in every way superior to this one?
For many that answer wil be different. But me? I'd much rather have a better game.

Atleast emblems, shaders and character model for me.. Maybe sparrows and ships.. But agree on the point to get some kind off reset

Edited by Kardain: 11/12/2016 8:56:07 AMAt a minimum... Shaders, emblems, sparrows, ships, FotL crap, emotes, grimoire and character models all should carry over (if I missed anything strictly cosmetic or has zero overall impact on gameplay, meh). Optional: subclass progress. Further down the optional trail: all the things. Why? http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/12/07/bungie-wants-player-progress-to-carry-over-to-destiny-sequel Until Bungie or Activision says otherwise, the update in that link is what's to happen. Anything else at this point is rumor and speculation.

I just wanna keep my shaders and emblems but I want a fresh start
-
1 ReplyI've been a big supporter in the idea that Destiny 2 should be a full reboot and that we shouldn't be able to bring our characters from Destiny to Destiny 2. My take on it is that bringing anything from Destiny over to Destiny 2 would be like putting a diseased heart, a malfunctioning kidney and/or a prostate with cancer into a healthy body. There is just to much wrong with Destiny and too many of these flaws exist in its DNA. We really need a fresh start if Destiny 2 is going evolve past the failings of its predecessor.
-
I'd be fine with a full reset. Maybe port over your grim cards and the base appearance, but otherwise it's the only way to fix all the issues this game has.
-
Just keep our Grimore score! That carrying over hurts no one
-
Anything less than a fresh start, is just a DLC. I'm hoping they'll have better net code in Destiny 2 and dedicated servers(I know, wishful thinking)
-
Don't worry Thorn is irrelevant now you don't have to wait for destiny 2.

1 ReplyI agree, it would suck to lose all my stuff but if they remake the game using intelligence this time then i will love it. Destiny is an epic story and i would love to see more but with the lead creative writer leaving bungie more than halfway through its making (taking a chunk of content he had the rights to) made them have to try to cobble together a game out of what was left. This left them reeling and they didnt have time to design a new story. But i hope that a full reboot for destiny 2 may leave behind many of the glitches and more braindead mechanics of destiny so they will have a clean slate and thus be able to make a better game from scratch instead of cobbling together what they had left.

Edited by AcidRohnin: 11/11/2016 7:06:26 PMMajority of the things in game are models so why can't a few transfer over as well. At least have a trophy room/armory in your social space that has some of your items in it. Not like a tower social space but like your room, or ship.(all raid weapons/armor that were kept, some exotics, etcs. They wouldn't be useable but would still have some merit to them.) I feel it wouldn't be hard to implement and would be a nice touch. Another cool thing that could be done but I doubt would be is if your Destiny 1 guardian turned evil due to all the shit they have been through. Maybe your new guardian would have to fight them further in the story. Your old guardian would have all of their strongest weapons. It would be a cool battle and could really be challenging. You would know what they could do and it could add a sense if terror if done correctly.

2 RepliesI am all for a full reboot. We as players have everything to gain from it. Bigger and better open worlds, actual patrol missions, epic quests, flyable ships, and maybe some massive world events. Not to mention having a separate sandbox from PvE and PvP? Wishful thinking on that one anyway.

Or...Wait for it🤔...
Bungie has repeatedly said that Destiny is just an experiment

...🔫💥ufta😵...

...architect down💀...
I don't understand why they need to do a complete overhaul in the game. Don't get me wrong it's garbage and severely underachieved my expectations but all they need to do is tweak some things around and add/remove others. Get a dedicated server in place, separate pvp from pve, make sure year 1 content stats relevant when it goes into y2 or y3 and scrap the heavy grind the game has going for it as you won't get my interest in a grind heavy game AND it being RNG based, you'll see me move into other games at that point. Having an open world destiny would be cool and all but it's unrealistic (and I had this expectation before it came out, bungie was simply way over their heads advertising stuff that simply won't be done on console). The console can only take so much and destiny itself is a pretty big game when you look at it from a technical standpoint, adding open world exploration, player trading, etc etc will result in other features getting cut for this to get in. If there's one thing destiny did for me, it was reminding me why mmo type games will not work on consoles unless they get a serious upgrade to them, which won't happen cause you then lose the conscience they bring and they're cheaper than a pc, may as well do it on pc if they were to upgrade consoles.

1 ReplyI'm all for a reboot. It throws me when I read some post referencing someone's "hard work" getting left behind.
-
If it allows them to make the game better, go right ahead.
-
I'm cool with a full on reboot as long as nothing is a reskin of the old stuff!
-
I didn't purchase RoI. Two years of the same content was enough. If Destiny 2 is more of the same, I will pass on it as well.
-
Bump. Beta player here, but fresh start is 1000% the way to go for the game to be the best it can be.
-
I don't mind a light level reset or anything like that. It would be cool if you played Destiny that Bungie gave us an opportunity to port over at least one set of armor, weapons, and emblems. But bring them down to whatever the new stats are for D2
-
2 RepliesThey can make a new game, keep the same weapons( remove rolls and make set perks), keep the same guardians(subs), and add new stuff too. Im betting a lot of stuff will be new, but a lot of other stuff will be re-skinned. Im fine with this as long as: 1. Pvp and pve balances are separate 2. (imo) get rid of different rolls on armor and weapons (legendary and up). Like I said, set perks for certain activity would be cool. It makes no sense that exotics all have the same perks and are underpowered (some…most) but I can get a god roll legendary (again imo, my wish list lol) 3. More lone wolf Endgame content( solo-able raids) 4. In game lfg/omm/social space and planet chat ftlog 5.ToO has activities that is equally hard and has same rewards for pvp and pve (Solo-able). And just have monthly events for elite players to play. Not every week end. (0)6. Online optional. I know some of you say destiny is a mmo, but…no. 7. Exotics should feel exotic, but not be made rare (meaning hard to get). Also should be able to put on a full set of yellow 8.Week advance notice on changes. Stop letting us know day before a change is coming and stop hiding stuff in those changes(ninja nerfs). Player are detectives, we know when something is wrong…oh and make polls on b.net for guardians. Ask us what we feel needs work, what op, ect in the polls… More communication would be cool. Dead silence for months is…yeah. 9. Purely cosmetic microtransaction, with out RNG involved….EVER. I'd gladly buy an emote if I love it, but rng boxes are unacceptable. 10. Endless leveling…nuff said 11. Remove weekly resets. Let players play what they want, how they what, when they want. Xur and ToO every weekend is cool, IB once a month is cool, But everything else needs to change (again my wish list). 12. Space battles…nuff said 13. Wildlife 14. 3rd person in pve only 15. More vehicles everywhere 16. fan made emotes 17.Deej as a boss, Maybe he forgets to reload a lot and always has 1 in the chamber. 18. Grim library in game 20. Cut scenes…like a lot more 21. Guardians and ghost banter/talking/joking (think BT in Titianfall2) 22. Ghost has more abilities like distracting enemies, ect. 23.Playing as characters in the tower (flashback strikes or missions) 24. Emote wheel 25. Kiosk for everything legendary and up 26. Change playable characters at social spaces 27. Hold directional pad to pop a heavy or synth 28. Map Voting in strikes and pvp 29. More events with players vs BNG 30. Private matches with bot options, target practice option, and SRL (Srl should just be a every week thing too) 31.Xur bounties, Xur themed weapons, and gear. Hell yr 1 2 and 3 boss themed shader mods (make guardians shaders look like those bosses. I'd love a atheon diamond shader). Moth people too. 32.New guardians with more customization options. With the ability to edit, copy, and past guardians 33.Nightfall playlist, Flame head color options...maybe flame gear set for completing so many strikes. 34. One type of currency. Remove marks or glimmer. 35. Make D2 a true open world game. Idk. This Is what I want, but I'm not holding my breath for these things. Let me know what you would change or what you want.

I hope it's a wipe I have 1000 hours plus into destiny and i really hope we get a new change of scenery.

1 ReplyEdited by Il TOMMY lI: 11/11/2016 10:41:54 AMMy moneys on they put a story in where we end up badly hurt and our ghost sacrifices himself to save us. We on life support, years go by. Then one day in the distant future we wake, broken memory everythings lost and we have to dig deep to become who we once were.......
-
Dont care if we start at clean slate. Just keep shaders, emblems and grimoire. Maybe give mats or something for all the shit in vault
-
Edited by TyphlUpgrade: 11/11/2016 7:22:28 AMIf my beautiful items must be sacrificed for the greater good...let us keep our cosmetics. Shaders and emblems. Give me those and I'm set. A full transfer of characters would be technically implausible. Most players have all legendaries, but what about the ones with rares? And uncommons? They'll have to copy all of the weapons data from D1 to D2.
-
If what we've heard so far is true then Destiny 2 will be a true sequel with things like patrol reimagined as "play in" spaces with villages and towns, and a lot of opportunities to improve the foundation of the game in big ways, especially now that they don't have to support last gen. Now honestly would you rather that or keeping your weapons and gear? Also, it won't be a reboot. It's still the same universe that we have been introduced to. It just won't bring forward your stuff, and maybe it will be from the perspective of a different newer guardian, but that's a lot different than a reboot.

1 ReplyQuit being such a princess. If you played the game for 2+ years, you have no right to complain. If you didn't like it at any point you would have went to another game. Be thankful for what you got and sit tight till destiny 2. Only point I am going to make is, destiny was held back by the 360 n PS3.
