Ended up receiving the Sparrow, wolf helm and ghost ghost within a couple treasures. Mind you I ended up with some free silver through a purchase. Also got lucky and got all the shaders right away. I liked the FotL this year and will have no problem purchasing more cosmetics

I too enjoyed FotL. Spent a $25 Microsoft gift card on the event and got both ghosts, sparrow, and many masks (unfortunately not the coolest flame wolf one). Three FREE treasures through quests and an OPTION to spend/gamble to get more is very reasonable in my eyes. Bungie is not forcing anyone to spend, and the items are cosmetic after all.

So, you got everything you wanted ? Maybe that made this seem like a good event to you got what you wanted...I know you got alot of nasty, negative responses, but mentor or not, don't you think you'd feel a bit different if you didn't get those items ? I spent 15 dollars on silver (half the dlc cost) and got a few masks and consumables, that's fine (not really, it could have been more rewarding), but my biggest disappointment lies in the fact that we haven't gotten any responses from bungie, these forums and reddit are flooded with complaints , not to mention more then a few articles written, on the "gambling" on treasure boxes, and low drop rates for the ghosts, sparrow ect...
-
For this post you should lose your mentor stats cause this event isnt even a event its a cash grab i try not to hate bungie but i never like halo. Honestly this game would be alot bettet if any one else made it.
-
Gimme the brand of your lube cos it seems to work damn fine
-
Kellogs did you just confirm that Bungie thinks the 1-4% drop rate inside treasure boxes on valuable items is acceptable. Mmm please do not say it is so...
-
That's extremely depressing to see from a mentor
-
Edited by Unforgiven: 11/1/2016 3:05:06 AMYep they completely just denied Rng exists in treasure boxes. We got the official word from the man behind the mask.
-
well for your information matey lol, i bought 100 dollars roughly and i got everything, that was the same with the weapons ornaments too besides the one i dont have which is the Midi tool. BUT SERIOUSLY if it takes 100 dollars to get everything is it worth it, yes and no.
-
That's rough. It's all personal preference really. I have no interest in the ornaments myself. I doubt I would ever really see the difference while using the weapon.
-
to get all the weapon ornaments that costed me 100 bucks but still haven't got one or two. to get all the FOTL stuff that was another 100 bucks. since ROI i have spent a total of 200 bucks. Marketing is working lol.

Is there any way to report lying, because i feel dirty just reading that. Just because you got it from a few chests, doesn't mean that is how it is. People are spending close to $100 and not even getting all the items. Do you guys have Mentors cover your butts now Bungie. This is just sad.
-
Drops are always random. Some players may receive it right away but some may take forever to receive it. That's just how random works. The ones who receive things right away will not complain but the ones who take forever to get it will more often voice their complaints. I speak for myself and the luck I had. We don't get paid. I don't even live in the same county as Bungie haha.

Edited by Unforgiven: 11/1/2016 1:10:49 AMAre you the Bungie apologist, because I didn't order a Bungie aplogist. I am sorry. Please don't talk to me. Thank you. Honestly I appreciate what you are doing, and its not working on me. You can't pacify me when drop rates are literally 1-4%. Are you the clean up crew on forums before they start throwing the ban hammer?
-
Do tell, how did you "end up" with free silver?
-
I got some free when I purchased the digital collectors edition of TTK before the collectors edition upgrade was announced for a lower price
-
So you had silver and you didn't spend any money on the event. And you got lucky. That wasn't my experience. I bought the Collectors edition at full price also. I never got any free silver. I paid full price for it too. I got the Hard Collectors, not the Digital. Does that mean you deserved free silver and I didn't? Makes perfect sense. -blam!-ing screwed by Bungie again.
-
The physical collectors edition received some physical goodies as well as the digital collectors edition content. Some users such as myself purchased the digital collectors edition just for the extra digital stuff while we already owned all previous content. That is why users who purchased the digital collectors edition during the first week of availability were reimbursed with either silver or emotes as mentioned in the weekly update sometime in July 2015.
-
I also got the Emotes as well btw. That was part of the all Collector's Editions. Or maybe you are reffering to some other stuff. Who knows with Bungie anymore. They lie so much its hard to get a single thing straight, especially if you go back in time to last year.
-
Edited by Kell of Kellogs: 11/1/2016 1:39:15 AMThis was something different. The hammer, sprinkler and circle glide were included with all collectors editions of TTK. To clear this up, this was from Bungie's thread regarding this https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/162453150?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=0
Players who qualify for the Emotes or Silver (depending on your region) for purchasing Destiny: The Taken King Digital Collector's Edition between 6/16/2015 and 6/24/2015, should expect the following: Most qualified players will recieve 9 emotes from the Eververse Trading Co. These Emotes can be acquired from Tess Everis in the Tower Plaza or the Emote Collection. Qualified PlayStation EU-region players will recieve 2,300 Silver via the PlayStation Store. This Silver will be automatically deposited in your Destiny account upon character login.
-
Ok and your point is? How much is 2300 silver+ if you just buy it outright? $20. Now if you take the drop rate of the mask, the sparrow and the ghosts at 1-4%. How much silver do you need to buy to possibly get all of those items?
-
That would be around that much yes. I'm just saying it only took me about 6 ish treasures for the stuff. Hopefully your luck improves
-
I got the Physical collector's edition. And am stuck with all the stuff, that just sits and collects dust on my shelf. I would sell it on ebay if it was worth anything, but I don't think it is considering how many people have the exact same one sitting on their shelves. Really if Bungie had been transparent about the silver ahead of time, I may have purchased the digital edition myself. But then again, asking for transparency from a company that constantly lies to the consumer is too much to ask.

Edited by Unforgiven: 11/1/2016 12:57:36 AMOh wow. Amazing. A mentor is here to hype up Eververse and Microtransactions. How much did Bungie pay you to post that? I know they didn't pay you, don't answer that. The average drop is 1-4%. And free silver you got, well that was given out last year to buy emotes. I am pretty surprised you used it now. Seeing as how the free silver has been on your character forever. Now please tell the truth. Lying is bad. Did Deej or Activision make you post that? They literally must be making millions on this event, so they had to cover their bases.

And the hat just gets bigger
