Unable to join player on same network
I cannot join fireteam of my husband in the same household - xbox. I've tried the MAC, resetting, removing and adding back account, & putting one on wired and one on wireless.
Tried the method in the youtube link and I could connect. This issue needs addressed. I never had an issue until the recent update.

This was the only fix that was working for my boyfriend and I.... And now that Rise of Iron is out it won't let us. This is so frustrating!!!!!! The whole reason we play is to play together!!!!! FIX THIS STUPID ISSUE BUNGIE! Useless! 😡

Unfortunately, we're not that important to Bungie at the moment. They are in full promotion mode for Rise Of Iron and their concerns are getting NEW players. They know we have been with them and will keep accepting their incompetence on these matters. Between the constant destruction of weapons and crappy ass servers, they know we like playing with our friends and will continue the grind of Destiny. It's an unfortunate truth. I'm glad this worked for you, as it did me and will probably help everyone else having this issue. It's a shame that a company making hundreds of millions of dollars off of us couldn't figure out to disconnect from the internet, reconnect, run a speed test and join local fireteam. Rebooting seems to have worked for me. But I believe all fireteam members need to have the update to join up.

My husband and I had the same problem. Tried everything and nothing worked. Destiny did a small patch today and now we can join each other in a fireteam. The update took less than five minutes. Hopefully it will work for you too.

Odd. I'm running two 360's and two XboxOnes's without any issues and always have. Are you guys connecting via the same router or have some other equipment in the way?

Sadly, none of those work around worked for my husband and I, but joining through the clan roster has worked really well for us.

if you have your profile on each console try removing his from your console or remove yours from his console. my daughter and i had the same problem this weekend now we're good.

I have found out for me, that playing on a local network and not being able to join can be fixed. Try restarting Destiny and logging in at the same time. If you aren't able to join their fire team, restart your PS4 or Xbox One. It doesn't happen all the time but this is a current solution as of right now.

1 ReplyIf you guys are experiencing this both people need to quite the destiny application them both launch it up at the same time this is all about timing so once you get the part of choosing your character quickly go to roster and join the person you can't connect to NOTE this is all about timing if that doesn't works try AGAIN me and my two brothers always seem to get it to work like this hope it helps :-)
