This really needs to be sorted, the collection upgrade bundle that was released a few days ago, THE POLICY FOR PURCHASE IS COMPLETELY WRONG!!
After spending about 3 hours on a chat with a Microsoft employee trying to find out why I couldn't purchase the collection upgrade on Xbox, they told me that the policy to qualify for the discount collection was that you [u][b]HAD[/b] TO OWN THE TAKEN KING ON [b]XBOX ONE![/b][/u]
(the discount bundle was [b]MEANT FOR[/b] PEOPLE [b]UPGRADING FROM THE 360[/b]!!)
CHANGE THIS PLEASE
Btw Bungie/Activision is responsible for this policy not Microsoft. Anyone who cares bump this by all means, I will spam this if I have to!

Yes I have the taken king purchased for the 360 on the same account that I have been trying to use on android, iOS & windows 10 Xbox app as well as all browsers and through xbox One
Tldr: to purchase the collection upgrade bundle for [b]Xbox 360[/b] taken king owners, budgie's purchasing policy says you [b]need it on Xbox One[/b]!!!

I think microsoft fixed it now. I dont have any destiny content on xbox one, I only had everything for 360. But today, I went to check if I could purchase the collection upgrade, which I couldnt before, and it let me. Everything works, meaning I can play destiny and all current content. I was just letting you know just in case you havent resolved the issue with the microsoft support yet.

I was finally able to purchase the $40 upgrade version today. so it seems to be fixed, at least for whatever problem my acct was having with it. good luck

Ok I talked to Microsoft one more time, the issue is being looked into and if anyone wants to call support and check on the status of the issue (or be a squeaky wheel) it is Service request number : 1352871966 in the Xbox support system. Microsoft's official stance is that Bungie is telling them to let players know they need to wait until Sept 19, 2016 to purchase the Upgrade. While Bungie's website still says this: "Destiny - The Collection Upgrade To be eligible to purchase Destiny - The Collection Upgrade, players must own Destiny: The Taken King on the accounts for which they are purchasing the bundle. [b]Legacy Console players who own Destiny: The Taken King on their Legacy Consoles are eligible to upgrade their Destiny content to a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One console by purchasing Destiny - The Collection Upgrade. When i checked RoI - collection upgrade, last week it was £25.99. Today it's £33.19. RoI = £25 TTK = £15 = £35 £1.81 discount This price could be a place holder, while Bungie/ Activison work out a better deal. (I doubt it). p.s I'm trying to paste the picture of the price into the text box, it doesn't work.

Bump. I have The original destiny disc on 360 along with all the dlc (of course including TTK) and I am unable to purchase the collection upgrade. In the store on my Xbox One it does say that it will be available for purchase on September 19 which seems contradictory to various websites I've seen (Including Activision's website) that say it should be available now, along with it's own description "pre-purchase to begin playing Destiny, Expansions I & II, and The Taken King [b]Today[/b]..." Hopefully we don't really have to wait until September 19, one day before release of ROI

Well that is strange, i just had a chat with microsoft with the same conclusion but a completly different story. They said that because i have vanilla destiny on DISC and nog digital, i don't qualify for the upgrade. So in short, you need to have all of destiny 100% digital to qualify. But reading this and it being a complete other story makes me even more mad, its not even misleading, its just plain lies. Freaking discribtion cleary says "have TTK on 360 and you get a discount" (having TTK means all dlc because you can't have TTK without the previous ones, duhhh). Clearly thats bull. But microsoft keeps saying i need TTK for RoI and i actually think its a bug. Because as you also can read if you buy this pack you can already install everything till TTK. But i Think the code in the store sees it as RoI dlc and that requires TTK, suggesting a loop bug. For people not understanding lets take all the dlc+vanilla as numbers: 1. Vanilla D 2. Crota 3. How 4. TTK 5. RoI the system (probably) works chronological. So to get to two we first need 1 and to get to three we first need two, logical right? I think the store sees the "the collection" packs as number 5. But actually it is 1 2 3 4 5 together. So the xbox store sees your xbox one, sees no number 4 ( and therefore no 1,2 and 3) and says no can do. But this is stated with the product: "Pre-purchase to begin playing Destiny, Expansions I & II, and The Taken King Today." So when RoI drops, you would be able to instantly download it since you pre installed 1/4. So by buying the pack you qualify for the pack (the loop), so i think its a bug. Bungie or microsoft needs to fix. Can a moderator please react to this because this whole problem is very frustrating and i see a lot of post around about this particular problem. Because come on, if we have to do it that way we would be paying double for all dlc but RoI ????? so where's that "discount"?! I just called Xbox Support and this is the answer I got about the lock on the Upgrade bundle: "The initial price that was set on the product was the wrong one, and Activision/Bungie had to take down the product to re calculate the price for it with each currency exchange value for the different contries, and that is the reason the Upgrade bundle has been down" So basically the price that shows here was wrong: http://i.imgur.com/4OIEv2k.jpg (screenshot of the Xbox App provided by a friend) And the Xbox Support employee suggested me to keep checking the store daily to see if it gets up. I don't know if this is true or not, but it's the first time i hear about it.

1 ReplyGlad I'm not the only one having this problem. I have Vanilla on disc from the XB360 LE version, which came with the Season Pass. Then bought TTK digitally (double-checked my purchase history to make sure it was still in there). I seem to remember there being bugs and delays with TTK pre-order as well on XB 360 :/ I'm guessing whoever coded it for the store accidentally put in XB1 TTK for the requirements, instead of XB360 TTK. Of course... how long will it take to verify and fix the problem? Depends on how bad they want to get their pre-order numbers up to keep Hactivison happy.

So basically i should apply for the Upgrade bundle, but its not letting me buying anywhere, and a friend on xbox 360 sent me this pic on whatsapp. telling me that he already got to buy the upgrade bundle. http://i.imgur.com/4OIEv2k.jpg (Android XBox App) So i decided to call to xbox support on my country (Mexico) and explained all this, and they told me that MAYBE something is happening like what happened on another game, that some people can buy content on the store but some other can't, cause activision/bungie hasn't sent the autorization for this on their AREA, which makes no sense cause my friend is in the same country as me. The Rise of Iron expansion is going to be released tomorrow and if i dont upgrade to XO i will lose all my progress, and if this is going to be the case, ill have to quit supporting this game, cause everytime i hear about an expansion or DLC or even updated, there is always a problem, like when TTK was released, that the content couldnt be shared with the users in the same console, please fix this, i had to work my ass off to buy an XBox One just for this game.

4 RepliesI went to MS chat and went through it with them. The rep was helpful and said that I was eligible (I knew this, as I had purchased TTK last launch for the 360) but understood I was unable to purchase the digital upgrade. He issued a trouble ticket and said to try in 24 hrs. Short story, it sounds like they have some issues, but it should be available if you are eligible now.

I need to know this too, because I bought the RoI pre-order but I want to switch to Destiny Collection (since is better and cheaper) but I want to make sure this current policy won't change. Have you received any confirmation from Bungie or something?

I saw a few posts about it having been temporarily buyable through a few devices, but that is no longer the case. A lot of people had been buying the upgrade (instead of the normal collection edition) without meeting the qualifications and been saving themselves a few bucks but I think bungie caught on and disabled it until they fix it. That being said they need to hurry it up, I haven't played destiny in months and I can't wait to upgrade to the Xbox one version and get back into it.

MS support may be giving you the policy for the wrong one. It's happened before, especially with front line operators.
